IF Fyfe was to stay at Fremantle, he would have already signed.

Simple.
Maybe the offer given to him was (to him) too low and he wanted to prove that he could still get back to his 2015 form, so either Fremantle up the deal or another club offers him a godfather deal and Freo need to match.

20 minutes ago The Age wrote "The Dockers have declined to comment on the veracity of the claim..." Interesting as Fyfe's manager has come out and denied it, "Fyfe’s manager Jason Dover has also told reporters there is no truth to the report." - News.com.au
You would think (hope) that his manager and club were on the same page...

Ohr well that's it then.
Any chance of getting Hopper and Whitfield?? for Hawthorns pick??

The best thing about this coming out NOW (and not at the end of the season) is that, if if sends Fremantle into a panic and they manage to get together enough money to re-sign Fyfe within the next couple of weeks, we'll still have time to pursue another big fish before the season ends and trade season begins. My biggest concern has always been us putting all our eggs in one (Fyfe-shaped) basket and it falling through at the last minute, leaving no-one left for us to pursue.
Can guarantee you the club would never do that. We are speaking to multiple players all the time.

I dont know why i bother, freo can match it and they will, if he wants to go a trade will be facilitated, e.g. The dangerfield trade...

Well unless Rossco suffers a terrible tragedy, I would expect St Kilda (or any other team that throws their hat into the ring for Fyfe) to call Freo's bluff and refuse a trade.

The Dangerfield trade cannot be used as an example due to the extenuating circumstances that Geelong found themselves in.

Hickey is pretty good no doubt, it Goldys class but pretty good. As Goldy is quite capable up forward it would be a really good combo for the next 4 years.

Goldy was almost run out of your club last year for boning club employees so I think we'll stay clear of him thanks.

What has Hopper done to make people think wasting our first pick on him is a good option? Nothing that I can see.

He came out like a bull in his first few games and hasn't quite kept it up. His stocks will have dropped a bit this season but he had like 30something disposals against GC in his first few games. I think he rates number 1 in contested possessions amongst rising stars ( I don't know who that's up against though).

FYFE IS LIFE! No wonder he is playing bruise-free footy over at LOLmantle. Ameet has already sold him the package and told him if he breaks his leg again he can kiss his big payday goodbye! Can't wait for him to win the Brownlow and Norm Smith during our second premiership next year.

Why? Why would you give up anything for Fyfe when he's a FA? What benefit would we possibly get from trading a pick when we have the war chest to simply outbid Freo for his services? Before you say they'll match I'd point you to Ablett, Buddy and Scully and also the fact that no club has yet matched an FA offer.
Dangerfield.

As long as we never get Balic'ed
It would be an honour, good to see he was top3 player in the AFL rankings for freo on the weekend. Just getting no media attention how he's a budding star

Fair enough.

I wasn't saying we will have to match, but if we had to make a trade I'd put up that selection.

In that cases of Buddy and Ablett they were leaving premiership teams who's salary was tight.
But in both cases they were leaving to a club that offered more money. Unless Freo have some hidden cash reserve we can pay more than them so far as I can tell.
