Opportunities in the big smoke as opposed to a backwater.
Big fish in a huge pond compared to big fish in a wading pool.
Seems an ambitious type. He'd definitely be positioning himself for life after football.

By us or others? (Given he's been linked with a few)
Like I said I thought that leak to the media was pretty well played. Smoke bomb
If this is the case, then big deal. You can't have it all your own way. What matters is what WE value him at. Our offer will be based on what we are happy to pay for him and not on what we think will be high enough to stop Freo from matching.the only hick up being what if our offer is significantly better than what the freo stakeholders would find acceptable to match given his form slump, when talking about genuinely retaining him
his form isnt the greatest and ive noticed that lyon got very very defencive when talking about it, which tells me its a sore point. i wonder if freo themselves are getting nervous over matching the bids he has already received. that didnt end well for cloke and collingwood when confronted with a similar situation and he re-signed when his form was pretty damn good
say we have offered 1.5m over 6 years and his form is well down on 2015, are they happy with matching that from a list management perspective if they think his form isnt going to get any better?
Rather Lonie in the ruckInterestingly Matt kreuzer is still a free agent. Think he is a Better option than billy and tom ATM .
So what you're really trying to say is the Fyfe to StKilda murmur has been around for 18 months now..... so.....I think the higher profile ones will probably be making up their minds right about now, if they haven't already, and be telling the clubs once they've come to a decision (except for their own club, if they're planning on leaving- they just get told that they'll look at it after the season is over, which probably 90% of the time means "yeah I'm leaving, but I don't want to tell you yet") and in most of those cases I reckon most of us will have a fair idea of what is happening in advance.
Last year for instance we were hearing mail left right and centre that Jack Steele was coming to us for weeks leading up to trade period and the year before we were hearing Carlisle to us consistently for a fair while, ditto freeman, from memory.
Bite your tongue. .. Blake stays!I love Blake, I have been so excited by Blake prior to him hurting his shoulder in the U18s. I was jumping on the couch on draft night when we called his name.
Now that I've said that, I'm going to put it out there. If Freo match, and we can get Fyfe and somehow keep our Hawthorn pick - I'll drive Blake to the airport.
Blake has some very special qualities, but he is still very much speculative and Fyfe is one of the best players in the AFL.
I'll say pick 4 this year will be a better player over a career than Blake will have (unless Acres somehow improved his deficiencies by a long way). He is a good kid, I love him, but from a purely non emotive point of view, Blake and late first for Fyfe is a much better deal for us than 4 & late first.
By his management, you'd assume. Was very much out of left-field when it happened, given we'd never been linked to him before (but have been linked strongly to almost every other high profile OOC player)By us or others? (Given he's been linked with a few)

Yeap ones seen his best football already the other is building nicelyI'll take Kelly over Fyfe any day.
The question I've been asking myself of late has been "would I rather play for the side my dad played a bit for a few decades or to the side my best mate is currently having the time of his life at?"
It doesn't seem like much of a decision to me tbh
Would u prefer to play for st kilda or another club?
