I wouldn't hesitate to offer him $7.5mil over 6. Would give him every chance to make $11mil or more over the 9 years that North have offered him $9mil for.

Not fair on Steele. Were only a handful of players that could do what Harvey did in his prime.
Steele has 2018 elite written all over him!
That's why Steele's isn't within cooee. It's not a knock on him, just what i consider to be a fact. Banger would hit blokes outside of packs with 25m handballs at times and they wouldn't have to break stride! You don't see anything like that these days.
Steele's is very good compared to others of his generation though. I love his composure inside the packs.

The thing with GWS is they like quantity for their academy picks, maybe Bainsy can work out some points without giving away both high picks.
I'd pay so much for Kelly.

If they don't have any academy players who look like high picks like this year, then they'll definitely prefer higher picks, would almost throw steak knives in with pick 3-5 and pick 10-12

Also we ABSOLUTELY need to take a first rounder into this years draft. It could be a potential superdraft and you just do not throw away all your picks on one player in those years, it just sets you up for hurt down the road. Dont forget the team is there to provide ongoing success, not just short term.
However we definitly need to offer GWS something good for Kelly. Hawks pick plus a swap of next years first rounders or with a 2nd coming back would do it.

Agree re Paddy, but as the weeks go by this year's draft is being thought of less and less highly. Far short of a "super-draft".
If we get Kelly and for the Hawks pick and next year's first I would have no major issue at all with spending our other first on someone like Jones, if he keeps on going well.

Substitute Josh Kennedy for Paddy and you get the last big trade where a club thought one player would win them a premiership.
The end result Blues didn't win flag and have been in permanent rebuild since.
