Jesse or Rory will be FF or CHF
Mundy in a FP and Cam HFF.
Then two smalls.

Buggared if I know what Taberner is going to do but Cox will likely go back to defence.

Mundy Lobbe Walters
McCarthy Hogan Cerra
Taberner will team up with Ballantyne at Peel win a flag and kick 150 goals between them.

Love to hear the cries from WAFL clubs.

Brisbane traded #5 and Mayes for #6, #35 and a future 3rd (ours)

They effectively went back one spot in the draft (with a pick they weren't going to use) to get #35 and trade Mayes for the future 3rd.

It's like us twisting the towel on #6 to get better currency out of Port.
Thanks. That makes sense. You should write for the AFL website. Articles on trades going through but not explaining the trade. More an outlet for their average photoshop skills.

If it's Cox vs McCarthy Cox has the runs on the board for me. McCarthy needs a good pre-season and a few absolute A grade matches at Peel with Cox playing poorly at AFL for him to get the spot back. There's been a lot of talk about McCarthy finding it easier to play on the oppositions third best defender next season, but that will apply just as much if not more for Cox. Cox as a teenager has been punching well above his weight against the best or second best defenders, imagine next season him playing on slightly smaller, less well regarded defenders combined with his athletic improvement over the Pre-season (something McCarthy doesn't ever seem to do), Cox is going to absolutely kill it next year if Ross and the FWD coach use him right.

Just needs that goalkicking practise done. He has all the tools. Natural.

This kid I have always liked just confused now how the forward line will structure.

I have been hanging out with a lot of ex-wives. Which one is yours?

I can't shake this feeling we will be watching the same b-grade movie next year, just with a better cast. We need a new plot.
my ex-wife's dad was a boxer.

her mum was a labrador.

funny thing is, my ex-wife does have a dog of that mix & we now get on very well :thumbsu:

so you are welcome to her as far as I'm concerned, but I'm not sure how her husband, who I get on with even better than I do with the ex, would feel about that

as for the footy, hang in there brother, I know where you are coming from. It's been tough being a Freo fan in the main, so it is easy to expect the worst, but I'm on the positivity train. :thumbsu:

Jones would be on 80000 as a maximum first contract, Bennell is probably on more. Bennell upside is huge and Jones should be 6th in line to our ruck. I would have Sandi, Darci, Lobb, Apeness, Meek in front of him
Bennell was shopped around and no one wanted him. Let's assume he's on 200K, if we delist and rookie him it really sends a message that it's his last chance. If another club then bites, we get our wish and save 200K.

We have a large excess of rucks and Strnadica is out of contract. He has shown a bit as forward/ruck I think just needs to build up and would prefer to keep versus Meek, Apeness or Jones but they have contracts. Delist and re-rookie? End of next year and we probably should be shedding 3 rucks (Sandi, and 2 of Meek, Apeness or Jones).

As far as the forward line goes, ensuring Hogan's foot is 100% right could mean he's out of the mix for a fair part of the season. So all the others might get more of a chance to stake their claim.
He said should be running in 4 weeks at the latest. Barring setbacks should be in for round 1.

Leave my boy Dr Jones out of that conversation!!!...please lose some weight Scott!!!!!

A lot of people saying that we’re too tall, I agree but only to an extent.

Our grand final year, we played two Ruckmen.

We had the tallest midfield in the country. Fyfe, Mundy, Barlow.

A lot of people are forgetting that 3 of our 5 tall forwards are quicker than Ross at a Christmas function.

Hogan, Lobb, Taberner are really really quick so they make up for being too tall. It also gives us another dimension.

Or as I like to call them: The big fish, the Lobbster and Craberner. Seafood platter for 3 thanks.

I reckon oppo supporters reckon Ballas is like a type of fish.
A sol :D

He's had 2 years of goal kicking practice and it still doesn't look that natural for him. I tend to want to give Cox a chance in the backs with opportunity to swing forward if needed.

Which contracted players are most likely to get the chop?

I’d say Scott Jones most likely followed by Kersten and then Bennell.

Really hoping Bennell has one last chance though.

Jones because we don't need a ruck.

I cant see anyone else being delisted, but I can see a few being moved to the rookie list.

People are entitled to their opinion on Jones. I don’t particularly rate him either tbh.

But he’s contracted and got games as a first year player (yes I know he’s 23). Has the club made any indication they don’t rate him? Well they selected him ahead of Meek or Strnadica so I’d say no.

Only rumours they were trying to move him on during trade week.

Well there is also the being dropped before round 20 after doing media for the game and then finishing the season for Peel in the reserves.

It’s a moot point to argue that Jones will stay over Meek etc on the basis he played games in front of them last year.

Of course he did, that’s why he was added to the list, we had a massive gap between injury prone elder statesman in Sandilands and an array of young rucks (some too also injury prone)

Jones played his role admirably last year, and that was to come in as ready-made cover.

I think it’s hopeful to say the least that he a has a longer future in our list over Meek.

Sadly, I think it’s Strads this year that bears the fallout brunt of Lobb’s arrival.
Lobb is everything that FFC wanted strads to be, and now Lobbs here, well, you get my drift.
Apeness will stay this year but suggest he’ll be used as trade bait/steak knives next year
