What's it gonna take for Nth Melbourne to get a player to come to their club? 2 million a year?

Lol. Yes so Lycett becomes a Port player at the close of free agency.

How’s this for a theoretical?

Free agency closes. No match from WCE.
WCE get compo pick.
Lycett then asks for a trade with 5 years left on his contract without playing a game for Port.
Port trade Lycett back to the Eagles for a pick lower than the compo pick.
Everyone wins.
Eagles get a pick upgrade for nothing and Port get a pick in exchange for a player they never had.

It’s genius!

It’s also completely made up!
I like it.

On Zac Smith

At the right price I would jump.at the opportunity to bring in Zac Smith

Smith has talent however has lacked consistency throughout his career, in 2017 he finished 8th in Grelongs B&F and then went on to struggled to make the team in 2018

I also recall Smith towelling up Sauce in a game on the GC when he was playing against the Suns and again in 2017 at Skilled when playing for the Cats

I'm very confident in that Smith still can be a top line ruck however unlocking his consistency is the key, he definitely has the talent

My only concern is that Smith is 29 in Feb and wouldn't come cheap.

I would rather we were after someone younger than that will have a long term impact for us.

He played 3 games. Every chance he will be a delisted free agent

Pick in the 70’s should get it done or we pass.

Pretty sure he still has one year left on his contract and is on decent money, no way will Geelong delist him and pay him out for 2019.

Hes always been described as out of contract player Zac Smith?

You might be right. If you are, we won’t give up more than 70 anyway.

Really?? Lycett stopped Grundy all over the ground and Grundy had no influence at all grand final day. He is a quality player that unfortunately will make the power better. To bad they are going to lose Polec and maybe Wingard

He isnt a quality player, Grundy destroyed his only 3 weeks earlier.

If they want to use him as their number 1 they'll be a much poorer side.

I was actually thinking about this the other day. Teams using free agency for the purpose of manufacturing a pick out of nowhere. I'm assuming the AFL wouldn't allow it.

Maybe reading way way wayyyy too much into this but I find it very strange that only Knight and Greenwood comments on this post.

Lever, Cameron and McGovern have added comments but no one else. I wonder if a few small clicks are happening. 2016/17 the group was very tight, it now feels like s fee faction are occurring.

Disappointing if so. That camp has a lot to answer for!
Two of the guys in Charlie's Instagram didnt even go on the camp??

18 players re-signing this year would suggest the camp didnt really splinter the group either.
