Yer knew he had another season it he is struggling to get through training let alone the riggers of senior footy week to week.

Naismith doesn’t excite me like some others but that’s my opinion. Just don’t rate his around the ground efforts and is a liability

I can understand your point on Naismith, even if I don’t completely agree.

However your earlier post (which I agree with) that had Knoll, Cameron and Amartey as delisted means that it is Sinclair and Naismith. Therefore regardless it’s good to have him fit and at the very least available for selection given he is contracted and other options are even worse.

Had 6 inside 50s today which isn’t ideal as you’d rather that was a midfielder but he had a go. Certainly looked a better ruck than any of Knoll, Cameron or Amartey (not that he rucked today).

Not that much of a reach

Was bolting after strong finals and we liked him from a long way out, desirable athlete and kicking them on the inside/outside of his left and cutting up sides at the time.

Was an exciting pick

Bell blowing hard today but didnt give up, another pre season. Knoll looks seriously lost esp forward. Cameron looked like he didn't give a shit.

There were quite a few expected to go before we picked him. He was average until he had a good game in the final. Of course he has talent, otherwise he wouldn't have been playing, but eyebrows were definitely raised when his name was read out with our first pick.

Ling was a huge reach at the time and already looks like a bust. Why on earth did they go for him when their mantra has always been to take the "best available"?
How can you call a player a bust when hes been injured in his first 2 seasons, his draft profile says elite foot skills and pacy, I think their must be about 700 pages on big footy posters have dedicated to saying that we dont have players with these traits.

He may be the quickest, most skilful player in the AFL, but if he can't get onto the park then he is a bust. I hope he isn't, but right now he looks like he is.

Draft profiles had him around 12-25. So maybe slightly but not markedly so.

Dalrymple said when at the Dogs he was right toward the top of their list (or something like that).

Players taken after him of note:
Ed Richard (16)
Oscar Allen (21)
Tim Kelly (24)
Liam Ryan (26)

Hopefully he gets a clean run without injuries and can get an idea of what he can do. Plus side, got Mccartin with pur next pick.

Cause it is slow, these are the player who we have picked in the forties since 2010

Parker - tick
Lockyer - delist
Marsh - delist
Membrey - tick
Aliir Aliir -tick
Maibaum - jury out
Cameron - looking unlikely
McInerney - jury out

Not a bad strike rate to be fair

McInerney basically played free man in defence all day today.

Even three of those you mentioned it's a big TBD whether they'll actually carve out decent careers. Granted Ryan already has a premiership medal but he strikes me as the type who is only as good as the players around him. Allen and Richards are so far only showing small glimpses which isn't enough to go on. It was just a really shallow draft after the top handful, which is why it was laughable that the best one of the lot didn't go til 45 (I shall not speak his name so as to avoid beating a dead horse.)

Fella on another thread saying he works with papleys misses and he will nominate Carlton

Who knows if true I guess

Imo I still think he is gone

Just dont get bent over

Allen and Richards have shown more than glimpses

If you go and look at that draft you’ll find that there weren’t too many better players selected after Towers.
2012 was a thin draft. Top 10 after Towers (excluding shenanigans) were probably Tim Membrey, Rory Atkins, Mark Hutchings, Mason Wood, Kamdyn McIntosh, Tom Clurey, Tim O'Brien, Dean Kent, Martin Gleeson, James Stewart
