Hannerbury ~ $800k
Rohan ~ $500k
Papley ~ $350k
Jones ~ $400k
McVeigh ~ $250k
Grundy ~ $350k
Smith ~ $300k
Jack ~ $400k

Total $3.35M

I've tried to take into consideration where each player was at in their career and when they last re-signed.

We have a war chest ladies and gentlemen. Even if you factor in re-signings of other players I reckon we are sitting on $2M spare.

We'd only pay Joe ~ $500k due to injury concerns. We can afford to throw $1m at Grundy and a couple of lesser names like taylor, bennell & knights all on minimum chips. Get ready for a big trade season and a big push for a flag next year imo.

jack and mcveigh were ambassadors werent they?

i reckon heeney mills are on a lot more than people think

Am I reading things wrong, or is there serious talk of us giving up pick 5 AND Papley for Danniher in this 3 way? That's ******* ridiculous.

only in damien barretts bedroom

Not sure about ambassador payments. Agree Heeney and Mills on big coin. But who else on the list is? Parker, JPK & Rampe since their all captains and reid maybe Lloyd. Everyone else would be on average or below average $

Sam Reid on a pretty penny

If there was a possibility he was used as a piece to make this trade period a winner I would not be against it. Having said that If we do get a solid outcome and he stays he can still be handy. Getting to the stage of his career and what it has produced that I'm now pretty much on the fence with him.

Lol I just listened to the live radio for the first time and literally the second I turn on some guy rings in and says straight from a Swans co-captain's mouth that we've put a seven-year offer to GRundy

I've been saying it since the day Grundy's manager came out wanting a 7 year deal from the Pies.
It means that a team has offered him the security of a 7 year deal.
The Swan are the only team that is ballsy enough to give a bloke a 9 year deal.
7 year deals are p*ss easy.
He may not come to us but we would be tempting him.

We lost 8 games directly from losing tge ruck week in week out.
Get Grundy Swans.

bedford any relation to John?
A pair of Vic Country midfielders shared top billing in the Yo-Yo running test. The aerobic measure saw Jay Rantall and Cooper Stephens both reach level 21.8, with Gold Coast Academy prospect behind them at 21.6.

Rantall, a former high level basketballer at junior level, performed consistently this year as a midfielder for the Greater Western Victoria Rebels,

dated 2018
They're the two inside mids after round one that I like. It'd be nice to have a Rantall in the team again.

Josh Jenkins?
JUST IN: Sydney Swans have reportedly approached Adelaide forward Josh Jenkins’ management. Deal in the vicinity of four years, $2.5million. Second life on the cards for underrated power forward.
The guy is a plonker, "power forward" he is not, soft as butter, drifts around the back of packs kicking over the top cheapies, does not fit any need of ours at all! That's more than he's getting at the Crows and they can't get him out the door quick enough.

reid parker kennedy buddy heeney mills rampe lloyd would be well paid i reckon

someone like Sinclair who got 3 years, even florent hayward papley with their extensions bet are pushing 400 plus

hewett is probably closer to 500k than you think too,

average salary is 371k i doubt we have proven senior players like a hewett lloyd etc not signing for at least that if not more, cunningham

thats why a guy like jones walks if he gets offered lower

He's a Champion Ted. As I said once before this for me if it happened would make me as happy as the day Lockett pulled on the Red and White and Franklin after him. It has Sydney Swans DNA written all over it. A far cry from the South Melbourne Days when the biggest thrill I got over a possible recruitment of a player was when we were linked to Phil Carman. Watched Franklin tear us apart one night at MCG and walked away only dreaming of what it would be like to have him playing in Red and White. It happened so one can dream.

Hayward would be on a fair bit more than that (so would others). He signed an extension to 2024, where he will be a 26yo at his peak. There is no way he gets paid 400k at the end of a 5 year deal when the average AFL salary is $370k right now

The idea of someone like Florent/Papley being on the AFL average is crazy as well, that's the average of all listed players so it includes hundreds of draftees plus the no-hopers in the bottom 16 of the list

The amount of people losing their s**t on here about how bad our trade period has been before anything has even happened is staggering.

Especially with saying we are overpaying in trades that feature assets that we don't even have

Add Tippo's supposed 400K.

Does make you wonder why 7 years that's for sure ? Specific Period ? If it isn't the Swans somebody has offered that period. On the money Ted.

So Jon Patton, a former No 1 pick, is going to walk to Hawthorn for a 3rd rnd pick but we are expected to cough up 2 first rounders for Joe Daniher. Both are injury prone returning from long term injury. If Joe Daniher played for Gold Coast and hadn't played for 2 years with OP what do you expect Vic clubs would pay to get him. Some absurd Vic centric commentary around these two.
