Saints flipped their narrative hilariously quickly.

‘We need future first for Bing’

To

‘I’m glad he resigned with Gold Coast... we need to fix our midfield’

Some are getting sick in their stomachs with the realisation their future 1st is almost a certainty to be in our hands.

Then it will be

‘Oh well compromised draft... likely to be pick 23 anyway’

Not if you finished last you bellends!

17 and 22 are basically the same - both get chewed up by Henry bid, which most experts say will come around the 13-15 range. So the deal you propose is 14 + 36 + Menagola.

Not sure what all the fuss about Menagola is. I also would prefer Acres.

Fair call, was looking solely at what 14,17,36 - 22 + Menegola would be, and it came out as 6 + Menegola. Didn't factor the Henry bid into it.

So how about 14,17,24, Menegola for Hill, 22. 22 bit of a sweetener for Geelong, but 22/24 makes no difference to us.

The reason I'm saying Menegola is only because the jungle drums are beating and I don't want to pay for him.

Second proposal from Twitter (i.e. NOT me!):

Geelong deal 14 and 17 to Norf for 8.

8 + Menegola for Hill.

I nearly choked.

But this is OLD, OLD news now anyway. Hasn't Bing and Binger thrown a spanner in the works of Dumb and Dumber! :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy:

I suppose with King resigning at GC it makes it harder to see Bhill in purple next year, which despite all the current melts at Shit Kilda, is a slightly disappointing thought.
But on a positive it possibly gives us an extra pick to pull off of recruiting coup of a ready made quality replacement along with pick 79 for Menadue who I think given opportunity will be a very useful player.

I genuinely don't see that as a bad thing.

We are selling him at his highest possible value IMO, i doubt he is going to ever have a better season then he did last season so i'm comfortable with moving him now providing we get the value we want.

Sell high, buy low.

Which is pretty much exactly the Hill / Aish scenarios should they eventuate.

Hey guys, just thought I'd stop by and say congratulations on Ben King re-signing with the Suns, I can see how much it means to all of you and along with getting pick 6, another ripping trade period for you guys.
I have not commented on the King thing till now , But i knew he would re sign with GC because how bad would another high draft pick leaving after 2 yrs look for the AFL? After the rescue package they have just received. And things that make the AFL look bad don't tend too happen.Just saying.

Can we just put our fingers in our ears and pretend that we didn't hear it? Even as a salary dump this can only end badly for us
He’ll be best 22, cheap and his best asset is his kicking. Handy pick-up I feel

Yeah I think Aish is a spud, but he’s only 23. Plus Longmuir would know if he’s dedicated etc.
Would come for future 2nd you’d imagine. Maybe pies throw back in a pick around 60 just coz.

I suspect many here haven't seen him play lately. He definitely used to be a spud, but he is a decent player these days.

Also thought this board would love this. He is a defender and will allow us to "release Cerra to the midfield" more. Blakely too perhaps.

Aish's best game this year was probably against us. Menadue's best game was also against us.

Over the years I've definitely noticed we do seem to target players that played decent against us. Do our recruitment team only watch our games?

Also 2nd rounder for a salary dump? Ffs I'm glad some on here aren't in our recruitment team.

If JLo rates Aish I'm fine with it.
