Seriously guys, people can express their opinion.

I have always understood that success would bring in money and that NEW monied people would want to jump on board the Tiger train. Colloquially called bandwagoners. But for the long, loyal and passionate member to be so quickly and easily pushed aside for these new money bags, is very disappointing. One of the primary reasons for Richmond successful membership drive over the years is fan engagement. They have engaged supporters to part with their money, with excellent and affordable membership packages, in which they feel they belong. Some have been doing it for years, decades even.

From third hand accounts of last night’s presentation. The MOST important question concerning the people in the current PC bays, remains unanswered. Sounds like it was deliberately avoided. I would have thought the club would have been prepared for and have had an answer for this. I want and expect a clear response from the club. Having compressed some 1600 people/seats (N1 – N9) into around 1200 seats (N1 – N6), what happens when most or everyone turns up? If they are creating new memberships, that is initiated this change, again, what will happen if everyone turns up?

We are all members, part of the Tiger Army. Some fellow members being dismissive and mocking other members concerns is not surprising. I am happy to be labelled ‘selfish’ by fellow members, you know those “the pot calling the kettle black”. Some of us pay for the privilege of a seat, reserved in our case, with a good view and protection from the weather. Some of us are unable to turn up 1 or 2 hours before the bounce, because of work, family/kids’ commitments, road/transport delays, etc. In fact, we sometimes miss most of the 1st quarter. I accept that in games against lesser teams, seats may be found. However, what will happen in the ‘marquee’ games, when we ALL turn up and some cannot get a seat? The "show rate" of 55%, is complete nonsense for these games. Some of us have young children, what happens if seats together cannot be found? I would not be happy being herded and rushed into less comfortable seating arrangement.

For some of us, these concerns and questions are relevant and need to be answered.

Go Tiges!

In Rance's case.More than likely when he retires we won't see him at the club for decades.

You never know. I have no doubt that he will share the achievements of 2017 with his fellow squad members for many years to come.

You're not being pushed aside. The offering in that space is changing.

You don't own the seat, FFS even the club doesn't. You buy access to it each year the club made it available. It won't be available next year, so like many others before you, you reconsider what the best options are for you.

When did the club sell seats for perpetuity?

Stop prattling nonsense, where did I say "I owned" the seat?

Conveniently, my question remains unanswered. Currently, we pay for a "reserved" or "dedicated" seat, do we not?
What is proposed, I understand, we are not. So as a literate person, how can you fit some 1600 people into 1200 seats?
We both know that for the marquee games, the turn out is far greater than 55%. So what happens to people who WILL NOT
have seats? The "take it or leave it" response is commonly used by those who do not have an answer. Of course we'll have
to review. All we are asking is for all the relevant detail, so we make an suitably informed choice? Is it wrong for us to ask for this?

Feel free to respond and whilst your at it, answer how can 1600 fits into 1200?

I have already addressed this.

You will lose some to Olympic, some to 3121, and some to the annual churn we always have.

You're panicking over nothing

They are presumptions on one side of the equation. This could be true, if the numbers to the PC are not
maintained(via those on waiting lists now). It is the lack of information that disenfranchises people,
it is as the saying goes "the devil is in the detail".

Hopefully, the club is more forthcoming with this info.

Gday Tiges,

Sorry for the intrusion and congrats on just about everything lately...

I’m currently doing my thesis project involving strategies used by Victorian AFL clubs to attract new members, and am on the hunt for any Bigfooty users who became first time members of the Richmond Footy Club for last year (2017 season - before you won the flag). I am hoping this research will contribute to the growth of both professional and amatuer sporting clubs around Australia, which can only be a good thing for local communities.

All you need to do is fill in an online questionnaire (will take approx. 20 minutes) regarding your support for Richmond and why you chose to become a first time member in 2017. The research is all above board (approved by the RMIT ethics committee), will be totally anonymous and I promise you will not be chased up any further after your questionnaire is completed (unless you want to know anything more about the project).

Please PM me if you or anyone you know fits the bill and are interested in helping.

Cheers alot!

They already have an idea on PC peeps who are on the 3121 waitlist and the historical data on churn. Just because they are not showing us the data doesn't mean they are doing this blindly

Also this isn't the first time they have done shuffles like this, so past experience will be a guide too

You should get plenty of bandwaggoners on here start with rfctiger74

Nope, work thing last night

Watched the videos on Facebook , the little Norf dweeb isn’t very inspiring , I’m sure coming form #lolnorf he would have strategies for minimsing our membership

Jack & Rance and any other RFC players are here short term.
Supporters are here for life.

Are you honestly outweighing the sacrifices made by 250+ game Premiership players with reserved seat ticket holders getting shifted in to reserved bays?

Spare me.

Whats keeping and kept this club going?
Its not about the seats. Its how we hsve been treated.Avoiding the most obvious question isn't the way too comunicate to those who deserve better.

If they allowed you to keep your seats for a fee would that work

I think the name calling and animosity shown by some supporters towards others

has added another layer to the failure of Brendon Gale over this matter.

Pretty fair effort to seed such dissension in the tiger heartland

Mr Bean would be proud of your efforts Benny.
