Stephen Coniglio has received a NEW offer from the GWS giants, and it’s a pretty substantial one at that

Not only will be be offered a 6 year deal worth around 1.1 - 1.2 million a season, but also has been promised a BIG Endorsement deal with adidas , which would increase his income by a fair bit, at least $500,000 a season more

This endorsement deal with make it comparable with the Hawthorn deal in terms of $$$ , but still short of the huge Carlton deal.

This extra money GWS are offering is said to have played on Coniglio’s decision a fair bit and might drag his choice out longer than everyone is wanting.

Basically 10 million over 6 years without having to worry about media going through your bins. I'd take it for the peace of mind. That's gotta be worth just as much, if not more, than Carlton's offer. Not shabby.

The Neale situation is disastrous. All to get Hogan who's a lose cannon off field. All when they could have had nuaghton who wanted to stay in WA and was playing with their alignment club.

Without getting too deep into it, and I usually only deal with opinions, but I can tell you with absolute certainty that this is 100% made up and incorrect.

Yes, Aaron was already playing seniors at Peel but his preference was to move to Victoria where he has family and lived until he was 8 or 9 (from memory). He wasn't overly impressed with how Freo treated their reserves players and felt that he was going to develop better and quicker in an environment away from Peel where he was already playing.

He was also a defender pretty much his whole life up until this year so no-one in a million years would be genuinely questioning why didn't they get Naughton (over Brayshaw and Cerra) instead of Hogan (the year after) for the Freo forwardline.

If we do end up getting a 2nd ruckman (whether it be Ryder, Jacobs or whoever) what does that mean for Josh Bruce? I don't see how we can play Marshall, Membrey, King, Bruce and the 2nd ruckman all in the one team, it'd be too tall. Would someone like Collingwood or Melbourne be interested in Bruce since they're lacking in key forwards.

Marshall & the other ruckman wouldn't be in the forward line together & was thinking maybe Membrey to a flank or even a run in the midfield, about the same height as Ross & shorter than Acres, something outside of the box, might be an interesting move.

According to SEN, Acres has some interest from the perth clubs - maybe use him in a deal to get Hill?
And lots of clubs interested in Newnes as a FA.
Still in the market for Jones from Sydney.
Was that all on SEN ? Seems the same every year us chasing everyone who has a pulse

I reckon that's why they're having a look this weekend, Risky. Cheap as chips and there purely as back up. Doesn't interfere with the structure and is behind glass. Break only in case of emergency.

A cheaper alternative to Goldy, Sauce etc. Who would probably rot at Sandy. It actually makes sense, somewhat unbelievably. Keep him on the rookie list and promote as required.

Exactly what I stated in a previous post.
Worth keeping if he shows something. We’ve had both Pierce and Longer taking up spot this season without playing a game pretty much. Rowe could be a real insurance policy, even for one more year, especially as he has been playing well in the vfl apparently. Stranger things have happened.

Let’s hope he has a very good game on Saturday.

I turned the radio on this morning in the car which I don’t normally do I happened to catch a little of Garry Lyon, Tim Watson etc.

Two things of interest, Ben king is already a part of other clubs supporters fantasy trades, one guy wanted to send Daniher to Sydney and use the picks to grab Ben king. If and when he wants to come to us that will be our one and only chance baulk and we’ll miss our opportunity.

The other topic was port somehow have cap problems and they were talking about Lycett perhaps wanting out one year into a five year deal. He’s of little interest to us now with Marshall but that looks like an epic fail.

Yeah, all on their small trade wrap segment. We weren't mentioned in regards to Paddy Ryder who they said wants to come back to Victoria, they only mentioned Essendon but Tim made it sound like Ryder wouldn't go back there so we might be a good chance there as well.

They did mention us getting Hill and possibly interested in Jones, but actually it was more to do with who was interested in our players this time around.
Also although we had been interested in Lycett this time last year, and we was supposedly unhappy at Port, we’re not really interested nw due to the emergence of Roma.

Also mentioned Harves had been interviewed. And airport watch to see if Lyon was arriving - not necessarily for us, maybe other clubs, but again the fact that our past players have really got behind him.

I’d happily take Ryder. Or Sam Jacobs. I think an experienced ruck is the way to go considering Marshall is still young.

I think Newnes might benefit from playing somewhere else. Surprising that a lot of clubs are interested. The compensation is a nice reward if we can’t bring in any free agents.

What happens when King and King are expected to be big dogs from day one and end up Jack Watted?
Mate if we get both Kings they’re still going to get the main defender from day dot assuming they both play forward.

Also if we think every bloke is going to end up Watts we will never blood anyone good.

They’ll still have experience around them in Brown, Members, Snake and these days Battle I guess.

Realistically Bruce being around isn’t what makes or breaks them.

Glad to hear there is plenty of interest in Newnes. Hopefully Gil helps us out and we end up with pick 24. If we get a Tomlinson though then we lose that pick. I think I'd prefer the pick tbh.

Acres is in interesting one. Can't see him being worth too much after this season but he is contracted.

Losing those two isn't going to help our depth though. Hill is an upgrade Newnes and hopefully we could find an upgrade on Acres. Jones would be right now IMO despite what some people might think.

I just hope we can end up with at least one decent draft pick when it's all done.

We aren’t missing opportunity with Ben .
He knows the situation..once Stkilda drafted Max all over .

As for Timid ...well his credibility ended with Hird.

First time i caught SEN in ages as i was driving into town, they didnt realy tell us anymore than we already knew.

I worked out why i stopped listening to SEN ages ago, 3mins of talk then 7mins of ads that drive me nuts

My understanding, we're happy to pay a second round pick to Sydney for Jones. They want a high 1st round. Both teams not willing to budge.. Probably goes in the too hard basket unless they accept the second round pick.

He's uncontracted isn't he?

You'd think if we did end up with pick 24 for Newnes they would have to accept that in the end.

Doesn't Jones play primarily on the wing?
If we are investing heavily in Hill and already have Billings are the main wingman plus whoever else can rotate on them sparingly, it's hard to see a great need to get Jones.

The jungle drums are beating ever so louder that King is going to request a trade home this year. We'd be frantically working out how to bring Hill & King to the club in the off season.

I still think we offload next year's first for King - we're gonna need to pay that for him in 12 months time anyway.

If we can split this years first into 2 picks in the teens, use one for Hill and keep one, use the Newnes compo for Jones, and use our 2020 first for King, and get some ruck depth as FA or DFA, then we win trade week. :thumbsu:

King and Hill would be a terrific haul. Pick 5 and probably an Acres and maybe Newnes would have to leave, otherwise I don’t see how we get it done. Steven probably leaves too. Our future picks will come into it too. But King is too good to pass up. We just have to get it done.

Jones plays a variety roles. Has mostly been a back flanker. Moved into the midfield earlier in the year where he was performing fairly well I think but has moved back to the flanks and the wing.

He's more of a utility than anything at the moment I think.
