No I want a guy happy to play second who is a genuine ruck.Better than Sam Rowe, or do you want Battle, Bruce and Acres to ruck if Rowan is out long term?

So brad hill then?Who then kick it anywhere. Not sure another tall will be helped by that.
I'm hoping that can be taught a bit. It looked like we had learnt to bomb it long to the top of the square as a get out of jail free card under Richo.
Interesting listening to Terry Wallet saying you can't play three tall forwards unless you have guns and that small forwards are more important. He went through Brisbane, WCE and Richmonds small artillery and they have so many more avenues to goal.
I couldn’t believe it when they picked him.
He couldn’t have been picked up by a better club from our point of view.
Trade the off season before you have little need for them is the ideal. You need to know in advance is the trick. Probably a year away from that with Bruce and Dunstan. Not the case with Carlisle I’d say if we keep brown.
Steven is not going to be a premiership winner with us and we’ve coped without him. Take decent value for him I’d say
I’m ok reducing Bruce’s quality with some cheap ruck forward options if we play king as well as a third tall and the trade we get for Bruce makes us better in 3 years time. The cheap options seem to be signing extensions is an issue though
I’ve heard that before. I think I’ve said it a few times. Unlike you which I hope is right I just don’t think the mids have enough skill to use it well.

Xmas comes once a year. Then there is Easter. I reckon we got both in 2 games.I thought the previous two games ( before last week) that our mids kicked far more to the advantage of our forwards than they had in most previous games.
Depends who you replace them with.I don't want to be bottom 4 for another 3 years while we develop the Kings and lose the guys that make us competitive now. I don't think people realise how young our list is. Lose the mid career guys and the expected retirees and we are the youngest list in the comp. Guys like Bruce, Dunstan, Acres, Newnes etc aren't stars but they are the reason we aren't Gold Coast. Lose those and we are a bunch of exposed kids and Geary, Brown and Hanners.
Lots of mids use the ball badly, Shiel is no better than Seb Ross and plenty of others are wasteful. You need to be able to deliver the ball in deep which Rats identified, and then pressure the ball so that you lock it in or score. You need guys who can punish when you do get the ball deep as well. That Melbourne game we went long, deep and found space. Adelaide really moved the ball out fast and precisely and we went back to panic kicking again.

That's because are not good enough against better sides. Duh.Lots of mids use the ball badly, Shiel is no better than Seb Ross and plenty of others are wasteful. But given you only look at one side of the story, there's no point discussing it.
Agree with that, we are awful with our delivery forward.I don’t think we have a big issue with getting the ball. Our problem is our mids don’t have enough class to use it

Keep the same players - get the same results...
So the midfield isn’t the issue. Let’s get king then. You confuse me
So the midfield is an issuer. AgreedWe need to add elite mids not okay mids otherwise we might as well wait for Gresham and Hunter to become good mids and just use Ross and Dunny util we can get something better. If we could turn stub into Crouch or Hill if he wants out makes sense because you lose one.
SandraCharlie Constable, come on down...

Charlie Constable (inside mid) & Ryan Abbott (ruck) for Stuv. Two birds one stone.

So the midfield is an issuer. Agreed
Why would we want Constable when we’ve got a similar bodied, quicker, double sided version in Bytel?Charlie Constable, come on down...

Abbott must be pretty ordinary. Cats have really struggled in the ruck department but he's still 4th in line.Could do worse, Constable isn't my first choice of type, he's a bit slow and one dimensional but he gets his own ball and gets a lot of it. Can't remember Abbott to be honest but I have heard him talked about positively on radio.
