I dunno bout crouch, to be fair I haven't seen much of him at all because who in their right mind would want to watch adelaide this year, but his stats don't seem that crash hot.. for a slowish player you'd think he'd get more contested touches, but he gets the same as spook, and luke actually gets more clearances.... someone tell me why im wrong!

It's probably more about the cost to get him.

Better off swapping Stuv for Constable and keeping Luke.

The difference is Brad Crouch can actually run and open up play - reason for more uncontested possessions - basically what we need.
We get Crouch it's a improvement , not huge but a improvement.

We need to change something and the midfield been our problem.

Hill’s trade request is as little as three weeks away, while Ed Langdon has parked discussions over a new deal until the end of the year and appears increasingly likely to seek a move back to his native Victoria.

Crucially, both are free-wheeling wingers, which is precisely the type of player the Demons know they desperately need. Following years of recruiting inside competitive bulls and key position players, Melbourne was in the market for Andrew Gaff in 2018 but couldn’t entice the left-footer to the club he supported as a kid.

Now they want one (or both) of Hill and Langdon, Brayshaw’s name has been mentioned in dispatches as a player who could be traded to the Dockers and join brothers Andrew (Fremantle) and Hamish (West Coast) in Perth.

But the Melbourne-based Brayshaw is not going anywhere, according to the Demons, and it would take some backflip to accept a trade request after giving those assurances last week.

Melbourne are looking at getting Hill and Langdon

We’ve gone from wanting a first rounder or Hill in a three way to wanting Constable.

Suddenly there’s talk about the Crouch’s and all of a sudden offering Brad $900k is a good idea?

Dunstan on his money & with his output compared to Crouch on his money and output is not worth it.

We don’t need Crouch or Constable. We need people like Brad Hill. Classy, quick wingers who can deliver it lace out.

The supporters on here are the worst. They pot who we have relentlessly and fall in love with anyone that is rumoured to be coming to us.

True with those early numbers, but only played 7 games this year so can’t crack a senior gig at the Cats.
So his exposed form is really in the 2’s
And yes, we’d be salvaging something from Stuv wanting out.
But why a slower, single sided version of something we already have?
We swap a quick inside/outside for an inside only mid who can’t spread.
We’ve already got one of those and he has better exposed form (100 games).
Seems a pointless trade.

That was the knock on Josh Kennedy. Constable is a big game player clearance specialist.

Career Dunstan averaging 19.65 touches Crouch averaging 26.58

Crows would want our first round pick for Brad Crouch for sure.
I feel Dunstan is not much below B.Crouch , I just hope we find value when ever we decide who we want.
This is why Coniglio would be so good to get - just cash required - can Allan pull it off.
Unfortunately he has no interest in us.

Yeah, that's pretty much why so many Cats fans and others see him as having such great potential and why they aren't happy he's not getting many games. Still racks up the numbers despite his issues meaning you'd think he'll only get better (my old man is a Cat's fan so I get the inside word from him... haven't see a great deal of Constable myself).

I saw his 30 possession game and got pretty hyped by him. Made me depressed that they got another kid who looked like Joel Selwood's replacement who was up to standard after 3 games. He obviously didn't keep it up but still seems to have got handy stats in other games.

Interesting. Others threw his name up a while back.

Maybe him and their 2nd. Doubt we'd get their first plus him for Stuv.

They wouldn't give up both. I think they wouldn't want to give up a second for the trade. I think you could get their steak knives ruckman as an extra though.

Because Crouch can work hard and spread from a stoppage to win the uncontested footy as well as the contested. Something Luke struggles to do.

Forgive my language but **** on that. Constable can hardly get a game at Geelong and Jack is our best player. Geelong can argue age and risk all they want but at the end of the day if you want a clubs best player you give more than leftovers.
Yeah, Constable is a promising young kid playing in his second year of footy. It's hardly a surprise he can't keep a spot in a midfied of the top team.

Wasn't that long ago Hunter Clark and Nick Coffield were stuck in the VFL too.

Not sure what you think Jack is worth but unfortunately I don't think we'd get a lot more.

If we can turn him into a promising young mid that will likely play 10 years of footy than that might be a win.

He's played 7 games and collected at least 21 touches in 5 of those.

Interesting that the word is Patton to Hawks a done deal. If they get him and Cogs this year, we may as well give it away.
They dont have a First Round pick currently. So if they get Cogs they will be offloading players better than Patton

In Constable’a draft year I always thought he’ll be a damn good footballer but slide due to clubs going for the more athletic blokes over natural footballers. I was spewing when we overlooked him for Clavarino.

He hasn’t had a lot of exposed form at the top level but across 7 matches this year he is averaging 21.4 disposals suggests he’s a player. 191cm tall midfielder, good hands & a ball winner. A bit of Jobe Watson about him.

He has 10+ years ahead of him whereas Stuv probably has 2. A direct swap probably fair. The Cats would be mad to let him go.

Listening to Richo on SEN about what he thinks the Saints need with recruiting.

He mentioned he thinks things have changed and Marshall has well and truly exceeded expectations. He still thinks we need to find a back up for Marshall, but I'd be surprised if we were still in the hunt for a Goldstein type and I'd be even more surprised if we still planned on playing Marshall as a forward.
