Hately for 40
Cameron in PSD if Geelong get stubborn

You’d be happy for us to pay $900k a year for Cameron for the next five years?... $900k a year?.. say it out aloud.

My thoughts... That would be the most utterly ridiculous thing for a rebuilding club to spend nearly a million a year in cap space on.. 28 at the start of the season (april) next year. Would he even still be there for our next flag tilt?..

Would be an epic **** up and would cost us massively.

Would rather throw $900k a year at Luko or rankine.. and theres no way id do that at this point either!..

Then why not McDonald? If we wanted Tillthorpe we could trade back and get him.
I personally like Thilthorpe more but being an SA lad on a same talent level would typically mean we take the local lad and they are at a very comparable talent level

No way on earth he is still there at pick 5 imo

The guy on that Hawks interview was intimating that we have the inside running because, well he didn’t want to say collusion, but he said collusion.
He would vigorously deny that. And than throw his sock on the ceiling

McDonald‘s year was awesome and has clearly moved way ahead of Tillthorpe at this stage. I don’t know who has the higher ceiling, but I don’t think I’ve seen one person rate Tillthorpe ahead of MacDonald, and you keep hearing terms like “generational talent” about MacDonald while nothing like that about Tillthorpe.
fact is that if he wasn’t from SA there wouldn’t be anyone here wanting Tillthorpe at 1, and there is not one of the other 17 clubs who would take him if they had pick 1.

Umm, Oscar McDonald? We may as well have tried to keep Hartigan if we're trying to get OMac

I'm happy rolling with Talia/McAsey/Butts/Borlase next year

You've heard it from Rendell, no one else has used it other than to quote him.

Sydney, Hawthorn or GC would all trade up to 1, and I’d be shocked if he wasn’t still there at any of those spots. Especially if the OP rumors are true.
They aren't.

I'd be surprised if any of those teams didn't take him.

yep...

just take thilthorpe at pick 1... same, same but different when compared to McDonald.. both are KPF’s but they have different attributes.. mcdonald might be just slightly infront at this point of their careers but not by much. i see more upside in Tilly.

a mobile 200cm tall, contested marking, goal kicking forward thats great below his knees and can chop out in the ruck??.. yes please.

but the biggest difference is.. one is an SA lad and a mad crows supporter and will be at the club his entire career. the other is a WA lad and will have two Perth clubs throwing bags of money at his feet the first minute he stutters on re-signing a new contract.

a week or so ago I wouldnt have worried so much about it.. but seeing how easily the ****in morons running the show at our club capitulated over brouch has changed my mind. when there is two same, same players available and one is an SA lad, and the other is from interstate, we need to take the SA lad.

so.. take thilthorpe and then use every other pick we have on mids and our two NGA’s... and maybe grab that Spicer lad..

and as for Edwards?... meh... carrying his old man‘s baggage.. pass.

I personally disagree as I have seen Thilthorpe play live a few times and he has real talent. But you have to look at how West Adelaide went this year - they were poor and it made it pretty hard to compete and dominate in that forward line and he also went into ruck. I am not saying McDonald is not highly talented but maybe he was able to show his wares in a far better side with much better supply to him..

Take one player out of our forward line 22. Nah I’m just going to say Tex. who fits better? That’s the only answer there and people that say Thilthorpe are in denial, it’s McDonald.

just putting it out there that I think it is almost a lock we will be taking Thilthorpe at pick 1..the reason is that with Hately coming in and assuming we hold pick 9 and get pick 14 from the dogs and still have pick 22 or 23 and that is almost certain to net 3 more midfielders and next year has a number of highly rated mids so we will be very well stocked with younger up and coming mids. a top rated tall therefore seems a no brainer at 1
Fair enough that you prefer Riley, but I'd personally be a bit miffed if we didn't take McDonald over Thilthorpe, especially considering we already have our KPF/ruck of the future in Himmelberg

Thilthorpe has muuuuuuuuuch more talent than Berg.

And I rate Berg

That’s obviously the other fact. By the end of the year Himmelberg looked our most promising forward, and he is very similar to Tillthorpe. If Fog had looked better we could trade Himmo and build around him and Tillthorpe, but the way it looked we would end up with a great ruckman and two great ruck forwards And nothing else.

madness... total and utter madness.. thinking we should spend $900k on a lad that is pointless having in a rebuild and doesn’t even want to play for us!.

and if you think luko is overrated.. you obviously haven't watched the lad play much. Rankine is overrated at this point but, **** me, this year was essentially his first season.. he needs to mature. he will.

like I said, i wouldnt pay anywhere near $900k a season for either of them or Cameron but if had no option and I was forced to take one of the 3 at $900k a year.. Cameron would be the last of the three I would choose for our rebuilding team. it would be;

1) luko
2) rankine
daylight
3) Cameron

just no point whatsoever grabbing Cameron even if it was for donuts in the PSD which ain't gonna happen anyway. He’ll stay at GWS before he enters the PSD.
