Crows statement. Hartigan leaving too.

I'm probably reading too much into this, but interesting that Adelaide's statement made note of Hartigan's contribution and wished him well, while saying pretty much nothing about Crouch.

Hartigan would be cheap KD back up

I’m absolutely amazed at the amount of negativity surrounding this Crouch news.

Should we rewind to when nobody wanted to come here at all? Now all of a sudden we are too good for a a guy who won a B&F a year ago.

Stop acting like we’re choosing Crouch over prime GAJ and be happy that this instantly makes our team better. Especially considering how little of the ball Hill was able to get this year, he and Billing’s are going to have a field day with Crouch and Steele in the middle.

I missed those heady days when we recruited Logan Austinn

Spot on. Crouch is the best midfielder that is actually available and does not cost draft picks to get in. He's the perfect fit for us.

According to this. We would be offering crouch less then 700k per year.

IMO opinion, it is still too soon for most of that.

For me this is an upgrade on quality on the inside. Crouch takes Ross's center square role and rides shotgun with Steele feeding Gesh, Z.Jones, Hill, Billings etc. Ross moves into the Sincs role. Sincs out

If we want to move Billings to a permanent wing / HFF and Gresh to a more 50 / 50 split, (and even play Steele more forward) we are still AT LEAST one mid short.

For me, that is either Clark (and we find a replacement HBF), Bytel or Caldwell. Open to any of the above.

But even with Crouch, IMO we are still AT LEAST one mid short. Probably 2

Jones is not outside. He doesn't need feeding.
Gresh will still go through the midfield. I'm not sure that Ross is better at the Sincs role than Sincs is.

Surprised there’s been not much talk of a key back for us I would’ve thought it’d be a priority.. we were really exposed without Carlisle in the final and no suitable option to replace him we definitely need a back up / developing key back
Hopefully it's because Carlisle is staying. He's better than any of the options that anyone has mentioned anyway.

Clav is the developing key defender so reckon we'll go for some veteran depth if Snake is moved on.

I’m not suggesting at Carlisle’s expense I’m saying as back up to him .. if he gets injured would you be happy to go into another final let’s say against Hipwood Danniher McStay mccinerney with the same options we had at our disposal when Carlisle was ruled out of the Richmond game??

We need a back up / developing key

Have I missed something? I could swear that jones was an inside mid not an outside mid. Same goes for Gresham. Why are we plonking him on the wing?

Way too much under appreciation here for Sinclair - he’s been one of our best and CLEANEST ball users this year.

Opportunities went missing thanks to Hill fumbling in the middle of the ground instead of being able to pick up the ball... however Sinclair has been a first touch player ALL year.
His speed/link through the middle and creative kicking has set up so many goals this season. Literally every time the ball went to ground he didn’t fumble, he just scooped it up first touch.

If the Caldwell deal gets across I’d fight any idiot that thinks he slots in to Sinclair’s spot straight away. Play our own kids like Bytel before we start sucking off another unproven talent

And fu** it... bring some more mongrel players to the club. I wanna be a feared team come finals time instead of a bunch of soft ***** lucky to be there.

Rant over. Can go any club

Sinclair can comfortably slot into billings spot on the wing.

Billings and gresh both play fwd line fulltime next year (with little bursts in the middle from gresh so steele can have a stint fwd).

That leaves gresh's old midfield spot for crouch and caldwell can fight it out with ross for his midfield spot.
