Gee wizz.
Not a lot of love for Brad today.
We wanted better compensation for Jack Steven last year who had greater question marks over his off field behaviour and health than Crouch.

The bloke is a gun, ball pig and in the prime of his career.
If we were trading for him, he’d be worth a pick at the back end of the top 10.

To suggest otherwise is off the mark.

Jack was a trade. Brad is supposedly FREE AGENT.

Seems like a very strange move for a rebuilding club to offer up a 3 year deal for an aging backman.
Particularly when they have Robbie Tarrant already at that age and probably better.

He’s driving everyone mad over on the random discussion thread, so yes, he’s fine!
Not being here is a mystery though...
Can't really blame plugger66 for avoiding this thread as it a bit of a shit show at the best of times with probably less than 5% of trade information that is actually truthful and relevant...
Here we ride the highs ...and we ride the lows ...but this thread is full of speculation, hypotheticals, innuendo, wet dreams, absurd scenarios and everything in between ...
In saying that i refresh this thread countless times a day and have learned to speed read "every" post as I try very hard to filter out the crap in order to find those little nuggets of useful info which keep me inexplicably drawn to the madness, excitement and anticipation of how the St Kilda football club will navigate this 2020 trade period. :)

Particularly when they have Robbie Tarrant already at that age and probably better.
And Corr coming through the door

I don’t buy it. Would cause too many internal issues with other players.

It doesn't add up, instead of paying a couple of guys how much they are worth for a couple of years IF we keep them, we have to overpay Crouch for 5 years?
If were were to do them such a favour, we'd want more than a token pick back the other way. 2nd Rounder or GTFO.

Oh yeah I know, I'm expecting Lones to be punted but I refuse to put him in my hypotheticals on principle… like Acres.

I think Savage is too good to spend an entire year waiting for injuries, he's out of contract and at 29, I think he'll be happy to move clubs if he gets more than a one year offer from us.

My kids are too old to care as much now but they grew up with Stuv, Bruce and Lonie, my son was too young for Milneys so kicked Lonies. Little dribble kicks that curved through the goals after Lones early career party tricks. He was always the guy he'd beeline for, he's a gun of a guy and was always generous of his time and kind to the kids.

I get attached to the players but I trust this admin more than any in my time following the club. Trout would have turned a best 22 player into a bag of turds. I hope Lones goes on and has a good career like Newnes and Acres have. I think we might be on the right path finally, it will be a shame not to bring a few of our old favourites along with us but I can see the plan in action and see why it is.

Savage probably goes too but he has dropped off the list of likely trades. Might just mean they are delisting him though. He was in the emergencies a fair bit and was in probably the best nick of his career. I can see him wanting to stay the course and see the next generation in though. He doesn't seem overly ambitious which might be what held him back from taking that next step.

We should get on the front foot now and offer Merrett obscene money to cross over next year as a FA… just for the ensuing giggles.

He's my step mum's cousin's son or something. He is pretty loyal and never heard of anything to suggest he's unhappy there, I asked recently and she said she hasn't heard anything about him moving. I reckon they'll improve next year and he'll sign on for his big money contract. He's related to Thorold Merrett who was a Collingwood captain and Roger Merrett the Brisbane player. I think even Sauce Merrett is part of the clan, he has a pretty good pedigree.

Norf have offered my boy Jakey Carlisle a 3 year deal. We currently have only offered 1.
Plenty to play out, Norf interest should become public knowledge soon...
He would be a big loss....Ben king sick of being in a shit team yet..?

If you are talking about Essendon having wage inequity being potentially disruptive then Hill fits the discussion perfectly.

One of the highest paid players in the comp, brought in with enormous draft collateral…

"One of the best wingers in the game" but can't crack our top 10 B&F.

He has a bit of work to do to justify the wage and trade, just like Jye.
There are some games where Hind or Sinclair would do as well or better.
On average Hill is better but that's not enough.

Steele may dip a bit next year (players tend to after a B&F) so having a guy like Crouch will be good. I'm hoping Gresh can stay on the park, and Hanners can get 10-15 games out of himself. Can someone tell me what's happening with Dunstan, Robbo and J.Web. Is it confirmed, or just musing...I can't find anything on it?

Being a proper pessimist Butler and Steele are going to be absolute crap next year. Just musings on those guys.

Would probably have taken the spot of Marsh in the last final when Ryder couldn't play. We clearly lacked in the ruck that game so does seem like a logical decision to bring in someone who can ruck/fwd as depth. Not sure McKernan is the answer but it is slim pickings and would prefer a freebie than trading in someone and burning a pick on depth. If Crossley is an option then fair enough but a year out of the game is a lot.

I am intrigued whether we aim long term to put Ming through the ruck at times or to keep him away from centre bounces. Short term I prefer him to stay away. Not sure re. long term.

Ruck isn't as bad as it used to be.

Probably lying to the current Essendon players too so they don't start a riot. Good luck with that!

Building nicely in time for Guy Fawkes Day!

We aren't allowed crackers and matches here. People used to stop in Canberra to buy pr0n and pyrotechnics but since the internet Canberra is just politicians. Now we just stand around a dark sky drinking.

Is McKenna an upgrade on Abbott? Clearly yes.

that’s the spot he is taking.

if there is truth in the Dunstan Webster news.

effectively we lose 750k in outgoing salary to crouch (Band 1 compo)
Dunstan
Webster
(1 senior game between both this year)

Incoming
Draft Pick/s
Brad Crouch
Free up easily $1m in salary from Webster and Dunstan who will be on decent to good AFL deals.

Think about it, we don't have Dunstan and Webster on 4 year contracts.

What you say has some merrett, but I still think we are obliged to drive his price into the Bezos/Musk territory.

Rhymes with ferret… do not actually want.

Their worth being third round pick upgrades.
and what is Crouch's worth?
I'd suggest the offer he was willing to take.
Why do we now go out on a limb to give pick 2 to a rival club. duh.....
Who cares what Wester and Dunstan are worth. If they want a bullshit compo pick they give us a bullshit trade Kapish!!!!.

I'd love to play poker against some of you lot.
