We have been a destination club for years. it's just we are attracting better talent now.

Everyone cast your minds back to 2014 when our trading really began please disregard our terrible trading during our rise and fall when we nabbed Lovett, Peake, Polo, Gamble, Milera, Saad, Lee, TDL, Weller and Delaney our only hits were Roberton, Bruce and Savage.

2014 - Tim Membrey
2015 - Carlisle & Freeman (Nath was our first top 10 pick we had request a trade since I can remember)
2016 - Steele, Koby & Brown
2017 - Logan Austin (offset by clark, coff + Paton)
2018 - Hannebery, Kent, Marsh*, Rowe*
2019 - Butler, Hill, Dougal, Paddy, Jones, Abbott
2020 - Crouch, McKernan, Higgins, Treloar?

That's a fair chunk of our team that we have majority of the time paid unders for (exc Hill).

In hindsight without these trades we would still be relying on our draftees in mccartin, Goddard, McKenzie, Acres, White Rice etc..

Now we are nailing our picks and making other clubs look second rate in trades.

The impact of Lethlean, Gubby, Bassett and Co has been profound we all thought Ameet was GOOD AS. Satan is pure BAD ASS even got ameet to take Bruce with him

Personally think Ben stays on the Coast fulfilled contract then moves .

Higgins would be a nice piece to add now , getting our pieces now young developing Ruck .

Play hard to get with magpies.
I think he will too stew but at least we can be in the position to offer

If treloar is a possibility... I don’t think we should go after Higgins. The midfield would be pretty stacked pushing them onto the forward line to rest and rotate.
According to Barrett we already have a verbal agreement with Higgins who apparently wants to start playing more mid minutes.

For me personally, stick with the one we know is a certainty and has plenty of talent himself (and is 5 years younger and probably 600k a year cheaper) but i definitely get your point.

Furthermore replying to my own post lol, saints have received most trades of any club since 1990. True Destination Club.

I know it's already been posted, but damn it feels too good to not post myself.

I refreshed this thread for three days waiting to post that meme.

Get Higgins sorted asap.

Then have a look at Treloar, but I question the financials.

Get Crouch the **** out of Adelaide as soon as humanly possible. Last thing we need is another Snapchat message on the nosebeers in our preseason.

Havent had too many ask to leave either with exception of a couple who we have offered pretty lowball deals to. Cant be bothered with the list but I dont remember many.
Cripps? Steven. Goddard

Most have been pushed out the door like Dal, Acres, Newnes etc.

Let's move some depth out for a bundle of picks we can trade for the dogs 1st.

Trade the dogs first for Treloar and Pies' 2021 first. Future 2nd to Richmond for Higgins and their future 3rd.

Lose Webster / Lonie / Dunstan / Hind

Still have a first this year, two firsts next year. Let's do it boys, all in.

FB: Wilkie Howard Paton
HB: Clark Carlisle Coffield
C: Hill Treloar Hannebery
HF: Gresham Marshall Billings
FF: Butler King Membrey
R: Ryder Steele Crouch
I/C: Battle Long Ross Higgins
Emg: Sinclair Geary Savage Bytel Parker McKernan

That is a top 4 side there guys.

Bring in the best available with our first pick, draft mature depth like Jye Bolton and Marley Williams.

Then next year we have 3 first round picks we can use to try and land a long term replacement for Carlisle... Preferably a young, 200cm+ player that can play at either end... Couldn't think of anybody that meets that description though
You've been smoking the same errbs as me..

It's a bit around about, but the Dogs 1st will need a pick between their 1st and 2nd as part of the deal for bidding reasons.

.Points bundle to Sydney for their 2nd

.Syd 2nd + Lonie + change to the Dogs for their 1st

.Swap Dogs 1st with Richmond 1st for Higgins

.Swap Saints 1st with the Filth's future 1st for XXX (filth to pay)

.XXX and Saints future 2nd for Treloar and $250K SC per year

.Higgins and Treloar

.Richmond's 1st for the draft, and 2 x FRDP 2021..

So are we going to get Matt Crouch as a free agent next year or offer the Crows a future second and get it done now to save time. They might need twelve months to think about it though.

I just been Adelaide board.
I just been Port Adelaide board.
I can go any board. 😎
(Port are having as much fun at Adelaide’s expense as we are).

Seriously, I’m “meh” on Crouch.
I’m not on the performance of the club.
For the second year we have been very professional.
That sends a message to players and agents.
More importantly, it sends a message to other clubs.

Our next FA foray may or may not be successful.
But we now have some serious cred.

So from that loss to Richmond it could be...

In: Crouch; Treloar; Gresham; Ryder: Higgins; Carlisle; Long
Out: Lonie; Sinclair; Kent; Marsh; 3 very unlucky players

I don't know if those changes make up a 31 point margin, especially as I felt Richmond always had another gear to go... But that is a ridiculous injection of talent from one game to the next.

More exciting is the fact that guys like Clark, Coffield, Marshall, Battle, Steele, Paton, Wilkie, Howard, Butler and King will have had another preseason and more time together as our core group.

Most people would agree that Geary is not best 22 next year, although an argument could be made for him to be an emergency, I can honestly see him being a player/coach and coaching from the bench most games. Ross on the other hand, if we bring in treloar, probably has to go so that we can afford it, effectively trading Ross' Salary for treloar's
