we haven't got a Ryder or Carlisle replacemen. t as yet have we?

With respect to Ryder it kind of depends on whether you fall into the camp of ‘Rowan Marshall is our long term ruck’ or ‘Rowan Marshall is our long term forward pairing for Max King’. I tend to think that Marshall is better as a second ruck and he needs a mainstay type to shoulder the bulk of the centre bounces. I’m completely ignorant of the likelihood of Alabaskis to come good.

As for Carlisle, I can only see Clavarino. I also think Battle and Membrey could be strong in a CHB role with Dougal playing fullback but that opinion is completely speculative.

Yeah I can't see the dogs doing that. They could easily get Lonie without involving pick 14
But pick 14 is going to be absorbed by the JUH bid, so if there's enough bonus points or future draft picks that come with Lonie then I could see them going for it. Everyone knows that pick is up for sale, it's just a matter of who makes the best offer.

Not only better ruck cover than Abbott, but provides better forward cover than Marsh.

Johnno must be starting to get close to the edge of the bed with all this roll over. I love his physical profile I just wish he could find it more and use it better.

I remember when we signed Marsh, a goodly whack of his highlights were defensive work at Collingwood ... been genuinely surprised we've not given him a run down there as he seemed to have a great sense of when to punch/mark, and a solid read of the play. He's not particularly undersized, and he's got the body strength to man-up on some of the bigger blokes, so maybe that is where he can find a niche, particularly if we don't have a clear picture on who replaces Snake when he's fully cooked. Maybe a little undersized at 193cm, but I don't feel we're seeing his best in the forward line.

So while we wait for the inevitable 'St.Kilda make another trade' scenario for Higgins, I decided to go over a bit of recent trade history.

It's been a week since the great Crouch lube and ream job on the hapless club playing the Washington Generals to our Globe trotters, the Adelaide Crows.

So on this momentous anniversary I decided to visit their board and the Crouch thread specifically to see if they have come to any sort of acceptance of them being absolutely played.

There is some weird arsed shit going on over there. QANON has nothing on these guys.

Here are some of the morsels and a couple of the better posts.

Enjoy

AFL Conspiracy

Hmmm, is it just me or does it sound like the AFL has reeeeeeeaalllllly screwed us on Crouch?

Assuming what Fox and MRB37 / Volbeat is saying is true:
- Tried to trade Brad to GC for pick 11-ish last year - AFL said no
- Tried to trade for Dunstan so Saints could offer Crouch more money - AFL said no
- Tried to trade 23 and a much later pick for more worthy compensation - AFL said no

Back door deals happen in other leagues with free agency systems all the time. I can kind of understand why the AFL doesn't want it, but I feel like it's kind of delaying the inevitable, and we've ended up being royally screwed over by the AFL doing so

This might come across as salty, but I'm not sure why the AFL has been so hard on making sure we can actually get fair compensation for our 2019 B&F

Self Loathing and Pity

Pretty ironic that we get owned by the one ex-Crows player that we don't employ.

Player Conspiracy

The more I think about this, the more I'm glad we didn't match. But also, the more I'm pissed off at Crouch for ******* up our best shot at getting Pick 2 for him by getting caught buying cocaine from a D. I wonder if it was deliberate? "I wanna stay, you won't offer me what I want, therefore I'm going to fu** you over". And that's exactly what he's done. Saints knew exactly what our offer was to him. They knew we wouldn't offer 4 or five years. So that's what they come in with, but unders in terms of $$$. It was the term of contract that sunk us in the end. I wouldn't want him - as much as he has potential - on our books for five years. I hope he carries with him the continued Crows Curse for greedy arse players.

Blues sucked in on Saad. Doesn't help them one bit for that price.

On our end one of Sinc/Bytel going to feel pretty hard done by next year with Crouch and Higgins coming in I rekon. I had them fighting for the last spot on the bench. Spots in the 22 are at an absolute premium for 2021...

the last spots next year will be dunstan ross, lonie, kent,

if any one wants any of those including mckenzie at the end of next year, they can have all 5 for one 2nd round draft pick. how about it peoples????

I think we are more likely to take a tall this year with our first pick than a midfielder.

I think trade period is starting to underline take best available.

Stoked that Carlisle is staying on, hoping there’s a trigger for a second year in there! What happened to that Owen32 bloke? said he was going to North on a 3 year deal, another missed dart from that fella...

Cripps is the interesting one for me. At some stage he has to start thinking about playing finals. If the blues are no closer next year and we have gone a step closer, anything could be possible. Clear Webster, Dunstan, Savage and Roberton’s contract and throw them at him.
throw also Mckenzie, pay him out next year.

Cockatoo for a future third is a nice bit of work from the Lions.

Geelong traded up in that draft in order to grab Nakia but his body has just never been right.

Apparently Higgins deal is imminent.

I've been cleaning bird sh*t off of my couch all day, any updates on the Jack Higgins deal? Last I read it was a done deal this morning.
Sooooooo many questions ...

Mainly, why did you let the Flamingo in your house in the first place??
