How is having to give up something for him better than getting him for free?

because they would offer us a showbag full of great stuff in order to avoid having to keep brad for 4 years on 600k.

Sure we'd probably cough up pick 15 so they could save face- but we'd get that back and more in value (cap relief and/or gun player(s)), because they really really don't want to keep brad for 4 years.

I hope we walk away..that's the whole free agency thing anyway. No guarantees and Saints are not obligated to do a trade if Crows match our bid. All this talk about agents not recommending Saints to them is just media talk. How is it our fault when we put in a reasonable offer but the current club decides to match.

I still dont get it.

Presser at 5.15? Says to me they won't match but will want to get on the front foot and explain why

Probably already done a deal to trade 2 seconds for a first , and they'll use that to try to placate their supporters enough so they can come back out of the bunker.

If it goes that way AFLPA won't be happy.

Sounds like someone suffered from...... premature slapulation

Are we sure that Crouch can walk to the PSD in the event of a match? I was under the impression that a player can only enter the PSD after successfully passing through the national draft without being selected, and is allowed to nominate their own salary for any club that selects them in either draft.

We will have all the power in a trade negotiation if they match.

Because they are far more desperate to avoid keeping brad than we are to get brad.
Once they match, we can walk away if no trade is reached.

That isn't really an option for them- they really really really don't want brad for 4 years at 600k.

Because of that- we could walk away with something like:
Crows get pick 15 and dunstan, we get tom lynch and crouch, with the crows paying some of lynch's wage....

The point is- whatever the trade would be... it would be well in our favour overall- better OVERALL than just getting brad for free.

The AFL so called Trade talk live blog is trash. Trying to think if there is a worse official website in the world than the AFL one. Everything about it is a joke.
