On the other hand there are people on here that post utter BS either to get attention or hope like Feck one of their stupid posts becomes true , why anyone is so desperate to be thought of as an ITK is beyond me
I agree

Not really trade related, but these threads tend to become all encompassing in the off season anyway.

Will be really interesting to see how we structure up as a forwardline next year. King looks ready to absolutely explode. Quite often when players get to the level of dominance I think he is capable of, the system tends to adapt to use that player as somewhat of a decoy to allow the other forwards to cash in. Franklin 2013 and JRoo the two most recent examples.

I think with the likes of Membrey, Sharman and Higgins, we have the weapons that we could set up a really potent forwardline that is dangerous across the board. Membrey in particular is the one I think we should be priming for a big season inside 50. With King drawing the attention, get Membrey back to his old role and I reckon he'll kick 50 odd goals. I think we are probably better off if Membrey and King both kick 50 odd goals, than if King kicks 60-70 and Membrey kicks 30 odd.

At the same time though, you don't want to jump the gun before King is at that level. It's also exciting to imagine the prospect of him just tearing a season up. Good options for the coaching staff to have.
I wander if he has the tank for it would we be better off playing him as chf and Members and Sharman deep forward. King is a great outlet option, decent field kick and has a nice kick for goal at around the 55mt range. I think Members and Sharman better to play deep forward. Both very good shots for goal and great leading patterns.

Thats fine . I guess I'm not in that tight nit group and really doesn't bother me as in the end we know the same thing , someone finding out info earlier doesn't make them any better .
I don't think i bag them out although i make ask them where they heard it , if that's bagging out someone they need to harden the feck up.
If that's true what you said about Battle well he can pack his bags and p155 off

I don't think I am in any tight nit group Risky, and I am not puffing my cheas out like it means something that I heard something before anyone else.

I actually agree there is plenty of bs spouted on here. I usually check the posters nic and many times I just move on as I know it is unreliable.

And when I say they get bagged out that wasn't directed at you, I honesty can't recall you doing that.

We were discussing Rahul before. A good honset poster with the best intrest of the club who got info from it that made the forum more interesting and fun. W2L tells me he was hounded off here by some which is a loss to the forum in my view.

Anyway I know stuff you don't so there ;) ;) :D :D :D

Iv said on here a few times a guy who does a lot of work for me and is a friend is super close to Ratts and catches up with him most weekends but the Ratt sure wont spill his guts , he gives him nothing at all , which is good in a way as you wouldn't want the coach telling stories of his players ect

I disagree, the further he is from goal, the more favours you do for the opposition. Let him take pack marks and allow him to take it overhead on the lead, even Geelong's backline were shitting themselves trying to work out how to spoil him before he got hurt. Max isn't Nick Riewoldt and neither should he try to be, he's more lethal for us drawing 2 key defenders out of the goal square than offering an outlet on the wings.

Rotate Membrey, Sharman and even Higgins as high half forwards throughout a game if we really need help marking there.

Yep. Let Maxy be that contested marking beast that he seems to naturally be. Sharman is a player that could become that non stop running, leading, presenting player though, seems to have a bit of it in his game already. Build his tank up even more

Could Battle take the Coffield spot in the backline and Coff go more into the guts? I mean, Coff was drafted as a midfielder and in typical Saints fashion we haven't played him there.
I could see Coffield being a defensive winger, gives him the freedom to intercept without much consequence, but also allows him to have a bit more responsibility disposal wise which could help him grow. probably a bit slow to be in the midfield at the moment.

Don’t forget Coffs had interest from the Hawks. That could still play out and Battle can stay. 🤷🏼‍♂️
As much as I like Battle I'd take Coffield over him on any day. Appears to have far more upside.

I did think that. A few might be a bit surprised next year when their bullshit is exposed

Unfortunately the criteria for bullshit can be manufactured out of thinnest of air and subsequently pulled in any direction. It is multidimensional in its plasticity. Needless to say that plastic reporting is a pre-requisite of 99.9% of all sport journalism. They are masters of their craft even if they do speak in a series of shrieks and howls.

I remember Rahul he had some interesting information and I liked his posts but I don’t remember any hounding as such. I read this site for years before posting and there have been quite a lot of great posters come and go. I think you can expect to have just about everything you post discussed and sometimes taken with a grain of salt, it’s a footy forum what do people expect. The one thing that has left me gobsmacked is that some people abuse and threaten others by pm, that’s over the top.

His kicking from distance did improve in the last few games- he has to lead up now and that is obvious- we dont want it bombed on his head, that did not work half of the year despite his good marking prowess and the good full backs spoil you all day. If he is on the burst and marks 40 -50 m i have no problem he will kick reasonably accurately.

Re getting nothing for Dunstan, let’s not forget that halfway through the season (or even at the start) his papers were stamped and he was going to be delisted anyway. He only got a game because injuries meant we would have had to list Daniel Wulf’s second cousin’s neighbour’s geriatric cat as a mid-season supplemental category Z rookie player to field a full team.

Good on him for grabbing the chance to draw interest from another/other AFL clubs. Reasonable minds may differ on the fairness of his treatment over the past couple of seasons, but I think most will agree he’s been a loyal servant of St Kilda since being drafted.

I wish him well at his new club.

Yeah I don't think playing King as a genuine CHF is the go. I think the aim for the forward group should be to find a way to have Max and either Sharman/Membrey occupying space deep inside the 50, in a way that they can work together and not get in each other's way. Let Max draw the attention while the other one gets let off the chain a bit. Sort of dynamic that needs a full pre season of working together and experience playing together to understand the movement patterns of one another. King/Membrey/Sharman should play a lot of footy together though, so there's no reason they shouldn't form a really strong dynamic.

Dunstan plays his best footy in the back half season of the final year of his contract, screw him...

As for Battle, we need to keep him, so versatile. remember how important he was last year, at his best he makes it easily.

How do we get Ben King?

early on in the game it's probably a good idea to push up the ground a bit so he gets involved early, get the confidence up with a few marks and what not but majority of the game he should stay within 70m to goal

I was also a big fan of Rahul's. I've been here for a little while now, but I've never had or seen any legitimate abuse. Some uber proud opinions, or posters, but generally we're a well decent bunch.
