Going to be interesting to see how the midfield minutes are meted out in Saturday's AFL Academy U18's vs Collingwood VFL.

A team chockers with first class midfield prospects interesting to see how much on ball time the SA/WA/Allies get vs the Vics..;):)

At least SA lads Tom Scully, Harry Lemmey and Max Michalanney won't be caught in that midfielders lockjam.

Max Michalanney seems to be rated highly enough to have cracked that squad - I guess that is good news for us

Could he potentially develop into a midfielder?
No, highly unlikely, Tom Stewart type player probably his ceiling if everything went well with his development

There's not likely to be many opportunities for that sort of player here though. We already complain that Worrell has been left to rot in the SANFL.

There should be room for a Doedee and Michalanney type player.
Michalanney to be the third tall defender, Doedee roaming half back who also dominates in the air when needed.

2024 defence:

Jones ~ Butts ~ Michalanney
Doedee ~ McAsey ~ Hamill

Well. I don't think it matters so long as he's not in the top 5 in the draft, which he won't be.
Ideally we want him to slip enough that our 3rd and picks after can get it done.

what about Keeler - whats your feel at this stage on where he might attract interest? and are we interested in him?
I'd be surprised if a team doesn't take chance on him before we can match so he'd be taken by us strictly on where our guys have him rated on our draft board IMO. Ithink he's the type of players recruiters ratings will vary widely on. Either way whoever takes him will likely need to put significant time into him before he plays AFL. Best case for Isaac is probably to go to a team where the expectation won't be that he plays AFL until he's ready physically because he's still pretty raw..

I think someone will take a punt in the top 40. Lucky for us pear don’t have a second round pick or it may have been them .
