Gippy Power Captain big bodied mid/forward Bailey Humphrey back with a big bang after missing several months with injury...4 goals to boot.
I suspect if he stays fits he'll suit up for Vic Country in the final game of the Nationals against Vic Metro, should be a cracker game if in the midfield if George Wardlaw and Elijah Tsatas are good to go as well...could go a long way to sorting out the draft order.

Going to be a good number of Gippy Power players drafted both this year and next I think

Anyone else get the feeling that if North manage to get Clarkson he may well talk Ashcroft in to playing for North?
Not sure they wouldn't want Sheezel and if thats the case then no point.
If he wanted to stay in Victoria it may be possible but one can only imagine the opportunity to play for fathers team would be huge plus Brisbane could draft his brother as well so they play together would also be considered valuable

Incredible -and totally understandable- how the lads prospects change as we get to the pointy end of the season - this time last year Lemmey was going top 3 now not mentioned Max M even earlier this year was a maybe father son now he seems like a lock, which is great.

The job of Hamish and his team must be incredibly difficult but I'm still not totally forgiving him for McHenry!!

Sometimes I feel like the recruitments team apologist, but out of the players left where we picked up McHenry, who would you have picked instead?

Honest question.

Duursma everyone said but nobody is saying now.

Clark, who left Geelong to go home.

Looking all the way down to Hamill I can't see a player who stand heads above McHenry.

So 2 players out of about 15 are maybe with hindsight.

Edit; Clark was gone before our pick.

You are an apologist for our dud recruiters, also still in the loving Nicks as coach group.

Stocker, Rowbottom, Sparrow come on down

Definitely Rowbottom.

The rest aren't in the best 22 for their teams, so while McHenry is not as good as we hoped, the list below don't exactly shout out class, and didn't in their draft year.

Just dawned on me that unfortunately Michalanney is being projected by Twomey to fall into the draft range where Swans have two picks.

we know they were very unhappy about the Dawson dealings last year, wonder if they will do us a payback favour by bidding on Michalanney before our second pick thereby burning that up?

Was happier when Max was flying under other clubs radars.

They'll only do that if they want Michalanney.

Bidding as a means of "payback" is a bigfooty fantasy.

Not only that, but you've got to also rely on the club you're at to be competent and actually able to develop players, they don't get injured etc.

Really, it's not out of the question that the most important skill a drafter has is luck, and that is something I wouldn't say Hamish has.

Of course, Our recruiting team come draft night will have their draft order set and I highly doubt they'll move away from that especially with our 1st and 2nd round picks, from there depending how things drop there may be opportunities to trade up or down given who has been taken and who is till left in our draft order.

Off topic but

if nm win today and don’t finish last how can they get a priority pick?

Stocker is a spud done absolutely nothing
Riley Collier-Dawkins in his 4th year has the grand sum of 11 AFL games, only 2 in his 4th year....You'd think he'd struggle to get another contract for 2023.

Who thinks we go other than mid with our first pick (if we still hold it)

And who thinks we trade that pick ?
Could easily see us trading it, Rankine being the most likely reason IMO.

If we do use it I would guess at this point it's a mid. Most of the best players from this draft look to be mids right now anyway. Could take a key forward I guess but seems to be a lesser need.
