West Coast would be heavily eyeing him off at this stage, you'd think
As long as we are too.

I reckon the Weagles will be looking at Jackson Broadbent pretty closely too with Nic Nat in the twilight of his career. Maybe not with their 1st but think he'll go pretty high for a ruck.

Just been listening to a really good podcast, of the the type that just doesn’t exist for AFL.

The Athletic football show interviewing Dante Scarnecchia - who’s been an institution in the NFL coaching on the NE Patriots offensive line for 34 years. He’s now retired and was sharing some scouting insights

When asked the biggest change over that time, at the end rather than the beginning, in how he evaluated players - he said he stopped asking players about what books they read in college, what their favourite interests were: he just focused on football stuff. He asked football questions and tried to understand their football knowledge & how they processed football related stuff.

Think this might be music to the ears of one Drugs Are Bad Mackay?

Kobe Ryan fast becoming a favourite of mine, might be right in our wheelhouse if we are picking 6-10.

34 disposals, 6 tackles, 5 clearances today.
Is who I’d like us to take with our first
Lemmey won’t get past Port, is a Dixon replacement
Very early days but I’d be looking at offering our 2023 1st to get another 1st this year push the rebuild along

Kobe Ryan - 1st rounder
Tom Scully/Issac Keeler - 1st rounder
Adam D'Aloia - 2nd rounder

See if we can wrangle Rankine out of GC

That’s my perfect scenario
(If port finish above us then go Lemmey and Ryan)

It’s a very risky move, but I wouldn’t be averse to it. Particularly if we think we can keep up the improvement next year

Ports first will go to GC for luko

If we're using that kind of draft collateral it has to be on a proven young talent not a draftee...

Who would you have your mind on
Nobody in particular at this point but putting all your eggs in one draft at this point just because they're South Australians is just plain dumb.

This kind of talk even before they've matched motors with the best of the best at the Nationals is way too early.

I’m not restricting it to SA talent, but if we want to fast-track our rebuild AND think the talent at the pick we’d trade in is equal or better than a pick in the 5-7 range next year, then I think there’s some sort of premise. Particularly as all levels will have more exposure this year

Obviously impossible to tell if it’s actually a good idea or not until a full season of U18 footy is played, though

I hope Port do give up their 1st for Luko, complete waste of time an over paying for a player who isn't motivated to becoming elite, is happy to coast on their God given talent

Didnt luko say he will wait till seasons end before making a decision based on where the Suns are sitting successwise?..

He might be looking at Port thinking.. I’m better off staying up here.. or asking at the crows..

This rumour of him probably going to port would be bullshit anyway. Be being spun by port in the hope they have an influence and possibly can make it come true..

And of course, we can't rule out that Luko is just using Port (or our) interest to drive up his salary at Gold Coast.
