Didn’t watch us first week, is Bauer someone we could consider? If he’s mobile enough he could be a nice foil to our three talls structure

MORE MID-SEASON DRAFT OPTIONS EMERGE
A STELLAR start to the SANFL season has shot ex-Sydney Academy prospect Jacob Bauer into the sights of several AFL clubs ahead of this year's NAB AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft.
Bauer, a high-flying 191cm forward, made a last-minute decision to sign for North Adelaide on the eve of this season and has quickly emerged on the radar of a handful of sides after booting 10 goals from his first two SANFL matches.

The 19-year-old was overlooked by clubs at last year's national draft after drifting in and out of the Swans' Academy program, but caught the eye of AFL recruiters when he kicked five goals playing against 20 AFL-listed Adelaide players on his SANFL debut.

He followed that performance with five more goals against Central District last weekend, in a display that also included eight marks and three strong contested grabs.

At least five AFL clubs have since registered their interest in Bauer ahead of the mid-season rookie draft, where the youngster will be looking to become the fourth ex-Sydney Academy graduate to find himself on a rival list.

Mutineer your lad O’Neill also gets a mention :)

One of those Bays' mids who ran rings around our guys perhaps?
Well they certainly know how to rove to our ruckman better than our lads...

Strachanie had no problem finding them with his taps..;)

From my limited viewing of Bauer we already have that player in Nankervis (wing/half forward). Bauer is certainly very good in the air and quite athletic so the question is as a Swans Academy player why did they not see him as player at least worth a rookie spot?

Mitch O'Neil as an outside leaning mid with great skills is also worth a look. Remembering he was a 2 time AA as a junior before his serious ankle injury.

Every team makes mistakes, in regards to passing on players for one reason or another

FWIW I’d be keen on O’Neill, maybe not the ideal height we’re looking for but his skill alone makes him worth a shot as a rookie, at least

Jeffcrowe is probably across Baeur's pros and cons more than anyone given he gets along to some of the NSW's Academy games and formerly the NEAFL

He is very raw , extremely athletic . Vertical leap and overhead marking is off the charts

Only saw snippets of his good last year so his improvement curve is strong to be doing this at his first 2 sanfl games

I’d compare him a tiny bit to Lachie Gollant and similar U18 form ( ie looked like he had something but not much consistent form )
