PMBangers Round 8 Mock Draft Update

Man I hope we don’t finish 9th…if your going to finish that high up you might as well make the 8…

Finishing 9th will miss the cream and rely on a slider or luck of a player developing beyond his initial projection, has happened before but you’d prefer the choice lower pick offers.
I can't see us finishing any higher 13 or 14th. It's a long year and our KP stocks are woeful and our midfield is weak.

Surely Crows dont go for another tall? Feels like they need more elite mids, they went for a small forward last year and a key forward in 2020

Yeah I reckon they would.

I could legitimately make a case for almost all the clubs below us currently on the ladder seeking another key forward.

Especially since they almost all lack, or would want an upgrade to, a second genuine tall forward within their team.

It needs to be managed like most teams do In a development year in the start of rebuilds.

We’re likely to be 5-8 at the bye without having to manage anything at all. Tough month coming up. Then we can reassess.

TOP DRAFTEE SET TO LINE UP WITH MAGPIES

No.1 draft pick contender Elijah Tsatas is likely to feature at VFL level for Collingwood later this year after spending time training with the Magpies during the pre-season.

Tsatas and Oakleigh Chargers teammate George Wardlaw trained with Collingwood over summer as part of the NAB AFL Academy program, with their NAB League club and the Magpies having close ties.

Tsatas, a 186cm midfielder with speed and line-breaking ability, enjoyed working with the Magpies' on-ball brigade whilst at the club, with a new face at the club taking him under his wing.
"It was definitely Patty Lipinski in the midfield. He was huge. He was really nice and inviting and welcoming with his knowledge. He's such a good player and he was huge with me and George just being able to get around us," Tsatas told the Road to the Draft podcast.

"He was new there as well and we clicked which was really good from him. We've kept in touch a little bit on Instagram. We play in the Pies' VFL in a few weeks so it will be good to see a few boys and familiar faces on the field which will be fun."

What we need is to play the kids and they show plenty - then a KPP slides to pick 7 or 8 aka our pick to be the steal of the 2022 draft.

I have us about there, i reckon we're probably the 10th best team and that's where we will will finish. Lot of very ordinary sides who are already falling away and our draw is very good.
We won't win any of the next 4 games. It's a long season and we don't have the cattle. I have us finishing 14th

Unfortunately not. Given he is a top #1 contender. But will be nice to see him play for us at least once.

He go to North or West Coast and I think we have Bigger Needs anyway

True, but doesn't mean he wouldn't be nice to have an exposive player like him. If we had multiple 1st rounders it might have been possible, But nevermind. I saw him in a pies training kit in the pre season haha.

There's some tall (196cm+) players in that Colgate team who are all eligible to be drafted. I'd be focusing on them with emphasis on contested marking. Big blokes take time, mids are a dime a dozen. Get the spine right, then trade for more mids if needed.

I hope we play amazing footy for the rest of the season but have terrible luck w umpiring decisions, weather, oppo flunking goals etc etc etc and lose every game by a point (except against Carlton who we beat by a point w a kick after the siren)
In these matches all our young players show how amazing they will be in a year or two
We then, somehow, draft the best 2 KPP in the pool

I also have us losing those games but still finishing high. Look at the sides below us, apart from Bulldogs and Port they look out of contention/cooked and we have a game up our sleeve. Unless the injury bug hits i think we'll be gunning for finals and selecting a strong side, while a lot of those will be giving up and putting people in for surgery etc. You never know but I don't see us falling apart too much this year.

IF De Goey goes we could have 2 Top 10 Picks but won't be top 2-3 as we would have to trade into it
