I don’t think Jefferson is big enough to be what we need. He’s more a second key. We need the big guy. I don’t want us to tank, but I don’t want to finish 9th or 10th either… we need the stars to align somehow.
Of the top KPF prospects I think Jefferson is the only one thats really demonstrated a great leap and an ability to take a pack mark, he's arguably the best in one-on-one body contests as well but that's moreso if Scully doesn't show that against opposition in the champs, so he plays a bit taller in that sense.

Thanks for that, he’s prob the one I know least about. Similar to Naughton? As a Collingwood supporter I’ll take any KPF at this stage!

I don't think Naughton matches his athleticism but it's not a bad comparison, I think Jefferson gets up the ground a bit more and will be better at ground level

Listening to this road to the draft podcast, pretty sure Elijiah means the academy (which he is part of) is playing v pies vfl. Not that he will be playing for pies vfl.

I thought they meant later in the Season he play a Few Games for us at VFL Level

Yeah I reckon they would.

I could legitimately make a case for almost all the clubs below us currently on the ladder seeking another key forward.

Especially since they almost all lack, or would want an upgrade to, a second genuine tall forward within their team.

crows are screaming out for a quality midfielder, they have got nothing. Be amazed if they took a tall

I reckon most teams are searching for two dominant key forwards. Adelaide have a potential one in Thilthorpe and they would be desperate for another.

Multiple top end key forward prospects worthy of first round selections have been as rare as hens teeth for a while. Let alone a couple who are home grown.

Also considering the development timelines of both positions, I’m taking the forward first as well. Elite mids are available every draft, and take much less development time.

Put down the key position pillars and build around them.

I fear them going down this line of thinking too. Lemmey or Scully would be a really interesting half of a duo alongside Thilthorpe, and as you say, midfielders tend to be much more readily available.

Hopefully they go for a mid.

Or lets hope they land higher than us on the ladder. They are only a game behind atm.

When I think of key forwards a few of the playing qualities I think are really important are aggression/attack on the footy, having different avenues to goal and foot speed. Obviously it's great Jefferson can take a pack mark but can he find the goals in other ways? I'm interested in your asessment of that. I wouldn't be surprised if we look at Jefferson and Elliott given list needs and our history picking up Chargers boys.

I like the use of the conjunction in that sentence. I think we should try to package up our thirds for a shot at two KPPs.

his kicking for goal is woeful
I mean it's been one bad game for goal kicking and the rest has been pretty good. The positive outlook is that he's getting those opportunities more than most key forwards I the comp

Bangers I just think some of us are a little bit jaded when it comes to considering a key forward prospect who’s at the smaller end.

Particularly since we’ve had one as our focal point for the last 5+ years.

Whilst Mihochek has done an admirable job, particularly in light of being undersized, I think we’d rather have a genuine key forward sized option.

We won't win any of the next 4 games. It's a long season and we don't have the cattle. I have us finishing 14th

Not unlikely. It's had that feel the last fortnight. Hard to tell though whether our form is sliding due to: new style getting exposed, cattle tiring and depth getting exposed, or simply because we've had a virus go through the team.

A little bit? 😂

We really need a Key Defender, is there any good ones a bit later in the draft?
I'm not overly optimistic on the KPD stocks this year tbh, it's 0retty much Busslinger then daylight. James Van Es (GWV) and Hugh Davies (Claremont) are two bigger bodies that are more lockdown orientated, imagine they'll be available late and could be decent options

I’m not big on throwing high picks at KPD. There’s other avenues to cover
It, even failed KPF who have the attributes. elite mids and KPF for me in the first round
