So go for Graham, even though we are flush for good inside mids and should be considering the make up of the midfield as opposed to pure quality? (note, I agree with this).

Wow this is a bit creepy. Listed as a MID/FWD, is not exclusively an inside mid. Even described here by Dimma Hardwick as the ultimate 'Transition Mid'.

Offers enough versatility for me to use him as a pressure beast on the outside. Be the player Ned McHenry wants to become as a link up with the forward line. Only attends 22% of CBA's and has low stoppage clearances, suggesting the stats also back up that he's not used purely on the inside at all.

Youngest team in the competition, least amount of games played, and with the exit of Brown, Frampton and likely Crouch, will actually go backwards with those stats.

We would be mental not to get him in.

Collingwood also play a very attacking game and take risks, as a result
their disposal efficiency should be worse than a team who play the slow safe possession game and they were second worst not worst.

Sorry they're second worst for Disposal Efficiency and WORST for Kicking Efficiency, got those stats backwards.

Burst out of the pack? Since when?

Yes, he's tough, good leader, but not overly quick, 181cm, KE is 64% compared with Laird 67% and more of the same of what we already have in Laird, Keays, Berry, Hately, types.

It's a pass from me, I think we need skills and pace as #1 and #2 priorities in our midfield.

He is quicker than he looks. Anyway, looks like we are into him so I’ll hand it over to list management from here :)

Should definitely look at him if we can create the spot. Winning mentality, has good burst speed, tough.

I'd keep Turner on the list. I'd happily move someone like McPherson to the rookie list if it meant opening up an extra senior list spot

Senior List Outs: Rowe, Frampton, Brown, Seedsman(?), Crouch(?), McPherson(?)
Senior List Ins: Strachan, Butts, Rankine, Pick ???, Michalanney, Pick ???/Bowes

Rookie List Outs: Butts, Strachan, Davis
Rookie List Ins: Turner, McPherson, SSP (Seedsman)

Depends if we think we need an extra senior list spot or not

I'm trying to work through your moves.

We're currently 36/6, AFTER Brown's retirement - so a full list.

Trading Rowe and Frampton and upgrading Butts and Strachan gives you 36/4. Delisting Davis makes it 36/3.

Trading Crouch and delisting Seedsman and McPherson (re-rookied later) gives you 33/6.

We can then take Rankine and two picks, so it's not impossible.

As described on the Richmond board today:

'What he does is produce huge amounts of pressure and constantly involved in contests and link up plays. A lot of what he does is getting from spot to spot, whether that is rewarded or not. He makes it harder for he opposition to get the ball out cleanly and to move it cleanly. He provides us with an outnumber in contests and another option in link up play.

So, for a position, Lambos HFF role or a rotation in the midfield.

But the thing is that when he plays we are more competitive and when he doesn't we are less competitive. That is a highly valuable player'

We should be utilising Sloane in a similar role next year.

Our priority needs to be skilled players imo.

Think he is a better fit for Port.

Bowes would fill a need for us down back. Hawks don't need half backs (Bramble, Jiath, Day, Scrimshaw) and I'd guess have enough young midfielders (Newcombe, Ward, MacDonald, Worpel, Moore).

Is a good kick, can intercept and good work rate. Inconsistency and continuity has been an issue and unsure of his midfield craft. Not fully convinced he'd be a best 22 player at most clubs, but hes miles ahead of Hamill or Jones at has shown strong form in 2021 before doing his hamstring. This year had a bad preseason, missed 4 months with a shoulder.

definitely rather bowes than graham

So besides that article saying we are interested has there been anything info?

You’d think we’d be coughing up 5 for any chance to get both. Could be Gold Coasts way of trying to wedge us.

possible we probably asked for hollands, they came back with bowes

note both hollands and bowes contracted to end 2024 not as per other reports bowes is uncontracted

Remember when Sloane used to be like having an extra player on the field given his ability to gut run end to end. Sigh….

I'm confused with the negativity about asking GCFC for Hollands.

Haven't you ever asked for something you can't have? And haven't you ever asked for something you couldn't have only to find, at the last minute, you can?

If they are truly in salary strife, and we are sniffing about, then who better to tip out than someone who might actually want to go to the Crows?

We shouldn't be afraid to ask. Despite what some on here might say. Who cares if its a no, you just never know!

It’s all well and good to reach for the stars, but at some point you’ve gotta realise that what you’re reaching for is totally beyond your capability

If we ask for Hollands, GCS will not budge

it's sounding like bowes unlikely to us
very heavily ended back end deal and only vic clubs now named

Fancy that
take it with a grain of salt
vic media still speculating we giving up pick 5 which would way surprise me

clearly rankine was given a very low ball offer by suns due to their salary cap issues if they now looking to offload bowes and co

i suspect the most recently reported 650 average per year from us is close to the mark but heavily front loaded of course to give protection if they have to walk him
