Treloar to WB, Shiel/Smith to Ess, Taranto/Hopper to Rich were obviously well pre-planned. All rumoured well before the deal actually happened. There has been no mention of a 'Hollands to Crows' move in 2022 being on the cards - thus no reason to believe it will happen, especially this late in the rumour sagaDoesn't mean we shouldn't try.
Every year there are trades made that completely mystify me. The trades that saw PAFC get those 3 picks in the 2018 draft, Treloar to WB, Smith then Shiel to Ess. And the inevitable el cheapo trading of Hopper and Taranto to Richmond.
I want some of that action!!
I'll save the melts - I reckon that's highly unlikelywhat Im saying is pick 5 is off the table unless it included hollands
even if its pick 5, F1 and something else for the two of them I would do it
Im not happy with that deal personallyI'll save the melts - I reckon that's highly unlikely
The only way I'll be disappointed is if we give up pick 5 straight-up, or more than pick 5. If it's pick 5 for Rankine + GC's 2nd, it's a solid deal for us
Personally I think that deal is par, anything else either way is a clear win/loss.Im not happy with that deal personally
Fantasy of great magnitude that a contracted Elijah Hollands is any chance of being a Crow this trade period.because that wont be easy
might be better to push GC now as part of the rankine trade if they keep insisting on this pick 5 rubbish
if we cant get phillipou cos pick 5 is traded, hollands needs to be part of it IMO.
nah either 2023 F1 or better still package up other picks into a mid teens pick if possiblePersonally I think that deal is par, anything else either way is a clear win/loss.
we can only dreamFantasy of great magnitude that a contracted Elijah Holland's is any chance of being a Crow this trade period.
Adelaide great names the “best two prospects” on Crows list
The former coach has identified two players in particular.www.sen.com.au
In Hamish and Justin we trust...In Blighty we trust
Congrats that is the longest straw in history. Guinness will be in touchIn Hamish and Justin we trust...
Maybe a silver lining to the McAsey pick?
Nah... all 3 were good signings. Himmelberg the most controversial of them, but anyone who looks at our list can see the obvious lack of KPFs, so it wasn't like we had any viable alternatives.Gollant, Parnell, Himmelberg and Hinge were signed during this season. That was 2 too many.
I would have signed Hinge and one of the other 3 ….. most likely Himmelberg, least likely Gollant.

Yes, in theory - but we really don't have any list spots on the rookie list to play with. Can we move contracted players not named Seedsman to the rookie list?
just pay mcpherson out problem solvedI'd keep Turner on the list. I'd happily move someone like McPherson to the rookie list if it meant opening up an extra senior list spot
Senior List Outs: Rowe, Frampton, Brown, Seedsman(?), Crouch(?), McPherson(?)
Senior List Ins: Strachan, Butts, Rankine, Pick ???, Michalanney, Pick ???/Bowes
Rookie List Outs: Butts, Strachan, Davis
Rookie List Ins: Turner, McPherson, SSP (Seedsman)
Depends if we think we need an extra senior list spot or not

Yes, but it doesn't necessarily open up more picks. It COULD be done just by delisting and re-rookieing, and shuffling the numbers of main and rookie list players.
The way it opens up an actual spot is you delist Turner and only re-sign him when you move Seedsman to the LTI list, which wouldn't be a bad play.
Hollands would be one of the least likely to be traded given they've nursed him through his ACL repatriation with great patience....you're dreaming if you think he'd be the one given he's hardly on the big $$$$'s just yet. I'd say you'd have more chance at Rowell given his indifferent form post injury and no doubt the $$$$'s he's on now.Under normal circumstances you’d say zero chance, but several articles this week have clearly stated that GC are in a world of hurt with their salary cap.
I understand the premise of one article is basically suggesting players like Bowes (fringe players) should be traded to ease salary cap pressure, but you’d imagine these names being thrown up are only half-measures. God knows what Lukosius is on, Rowell and Anderson OOC of contract next year and King 2024. If they’re experiencing pressure NOW, imagine what the next few years looks like.
No harm in asking the question when there are mitigating factors in play.

Aaron Cadman? So what tall defender are we going to use pick 5 on?
I wouldn't be surprised if we picked cadman because we all know with our recruitment team expect the unexpectedAaron Cadman?
Switched from defence to forward this year?
Given we drafted McAsey as a KPD and we're now reinventing him as forward why not?
Well he is a ripper prospect after all, one of the hardest working KPF's I've seen coming through in the last decade, Nick Riewoldt like in that regard, never out of the contest whether in the air or on the ground.I wouldn't be surprised if we picked cadman because we all know with our recruitment team expect the unexpected

Surely Rankine is good enough for us?!
But but Blighty...Pretty damning on them if those 2 are our best prospects
