Yep, their stats on scoring from turnovers are unbelievable and we are currently pretty bad at stopping that area of the game when we are not controlling the ball.
It’s exactly what GC did to us.

I’m not confident at all going into this game, will need a monumental change in how we defend to win it.

GC smashed us around the stoppage. Without access directly to scores from turnover in that game I cannot say definitively, but I'd be willing to bet that it'd be fairly close to a 50/50 split between stoppage and turnover for score sources.

The Fremantle supporters obsession with Carlton is a bit odd. They are probably the team in the AFL that evokes the least emotion for me. I genuinely have no real feelings about them at all.
I quite like some of their players too.

I think the hate stems from the wins we've had against them, particularly the Murphy and Newnes late goals and the perception we were favoured by the umps in those games. Also when sos bid on Liam Henry and a few other things.

So well before the cerra move.

Pretty much this exactly, I have a few Freo mates. They hate us for how we treated Brayshaw in earlier encounters, us picking Freo NGA Motlop earlier this year. It's a one-sided hate I feel but I do understand it.

In: Cripps
Out: Kennedy

Can't carry someone who forces the rest of the midfield to cover for him. He spends too long on the bench and can't run defensively. The midfields falling apart in second halves due to fatigue it's obvious as anything, despite some trying to spin it other ways. The data is there, the vision is there now.

Without brownlow level play from Cripps Kennedys lack of fitness and defensive game have been exposed massively.

Setters stays. He's in the top few for distance covered and defensively holding up well. It's too easy to remember the odd kicking mistake etc and ignore the good stuff.

I don't think anyone else is ready to come back from injury. Maybe Omac?

No one ready from the vfl I don't think either.
Terrible take! Blaming the player on the coaches decision to play his as a burst player is not his fault.

Yes, he's had a below his 2022 standard level the last couple of games, however he was still serviceable and when he's on, he is superb.

Setter's role is to run and he does... issue is, it's not that fast and he doesn't do enough.

Kennedy does not get dropped!

They feel the need to drum up a rivalry with someone as West Coast don’t particularly care about them either.

A really boring franchise.

Reading some of these Ins and Outs is crazy.

Kennedy does not get dropped! He's a different player with Cripps there. The issue has alway been he's never been afforded to poor game before getting droppped and now people are calling for the same thing again?

Also Owies... he might not be hitting the scoreboard as much, however he has been our best player hitting up targets inside F50. If he has the ball in his hand just outside 50, he will hit a target nearly each time.

Cottrell did everything expected of him.

Martin's first half was superb. Yes he dropped off, however it goes with the team. He is icing.

Bloody hell, I wonder what you guys would be like if we are actually losing games.

Out: Setters
In: Cripps

Cripps back in is huge.

He is our talisman.
Always better to have him in the side, but we cover his absence fairly well usually.
Pittonet is our talisman.
We've won without Walsh. We've won without Cripps. We've won without Cerra. We've won without Saad. We've won without Gov. We've won without McDonald.
We haven't won when Pitto was out. We comprehensively lost hitouts, clearances, contested ball and inside 50s with him out, but were decent in every other category.

We took Cerra from them who was one of their best young mids.

We've had the wood on them for a while, beating them at the death on numerous occasions like Newnes' goal after the siren and Murphy's check side goal in the last minute.

it's actually a nice little modern rivalry building between the two clubs.

i don't mind it at all.

both cellar dwellars for a long time, always close encounters. would love to meet them in a final - would be similar to a dogs v gws in 2016 i reckon - a build up of events between the two clubs which has lead to an unreal hatred of each other.

It's about balance and structure. You want to drop a wing when were bringing back an inside mid. So that means Walsh and Cerra get pushed out of the square more, and getting minutes on the wing and flank, and their production drops.
Does Kennedy getting to play with Cripps cover for that production overall? I would argue no.

But that's the thing, people suggesting Kennedy going out for Cripps are looking at it from a structure/balance/best overall perspective.

Dockers game will be an exciting, tenacious, close game.
Freo have the obvious advantage playing at home ground & that may well be the difference at the final whistle.
Fortunately Fyfe won’t play, so we have a good opportunity to win, especially if Cripps is ready to go.
Our Rucks are a concern we may break even if lucky, but Darcy /Lobb are a an advantage for Freo, it should be a great game between two teams evolving from the depths of wilderness. Go Blues

Wouldn’t mind seeing Stocker return if he’s ready. Also could be a good time to unleash Motlop. Good venue for him to have a crack. If people make way, Newnes and possibly Owies who just doesn’t quite do enough for mine.

I’d like to see what Jack Martin and Kemp could do on a wing.
So,
Out - Newnes, Setterfield, Cottrell (unlucky)
In - Cripps, Motlop, Kemp

We can win this game if we lock down the packs and keep it low-scoring / contested.
If the game opens up they will kill us, but I reckon we can beat them in a scrap especially if Cripps comes back. Need to roll in the mud for this one

I despise them & their supporters. Waste of time football club, though they’ve been good at drafting lately (with some Docker shockers thrown in, that are always well received).
just can't see how they can engender anything like that level of emotion, for or against.........

And without any suitable replacement in reserve for the big fella.

JSOS the only capable AFL ruckman willing to put in as backup.

Agreed. Blaming the second half fade-outs on Kennedy is simplistic in the extreme. Didn't he have 15 possessions in the last quarter against the Dogs only a couple of weeks ago? People very quick to call for players to get dropped around here!
