Because you think Setterfield and LOB are performing so well?

Martin as the 4th tall against the Hawks destroys whomever he's playing on....

Martin doesn't have their endurance, so he is not playing on a wing

Personally, I would have Martin replace one of Owies or Durdin, but Martin can play a number of roles, so as a sub it makes sense

Well after watching two matches I've decided that Setterfield and Lob haven't been a big problem for Carlton - they are playing to instructions in their positions and doing a good enough job of it. Neither has kicked a running goal though - but this just highlights to me another real weakness in the attacking capability of Carlton..

Carlton lacks scoring power on the flanks including wings and HFF - the team is deprived of the easy goals from HFF marking around the 50-40 meter mark - Liberatore was able to get the dogs back into the game with 2 from 50 meters out - we don't have a HFF or wingman that can do this and zi think it goes a long way to explain why the team finds it so hard to put teams away.

This is why I look forward to both Cuningham (after the bye) and Honey in a few weeks coming into consideration and why I think Martin pushes either Fisher or Fogarty out.

I reckon solving for the second key defender slot and fixing up the lack of scoring capability of the HFF - takes the Club to the next level of dangerous.

Not too concerned at the moment about our flankers and wingmen, not kicking more goals

Using Demons as an example, first 2 games and removing KPFs/Talls and mids

Fritsch 3, Pickett 3, Langdon 1, Bowey 1

Jsos 3, Durdin 2, Fisher 2, Martin 1, LOB 1, Owies 1, Doc 1

That's +3 and more options, so far

Yeah, think it was left of screen so that makes sense. To be fair, he did seem to mark a few more after that, which is kind of an alright achievement considering the ‘quality’ of delivery inside 50 (both teams couldn’t hit the side of a barn)

Whoever plays out of OMac/Young, will get the resting ruckman, Weits on Lewis

Gunston is the tricky one. Obvious choice is Gov, but seems we want him to be the interceptor/play on a smaller forward, so Newman might get the gig

Seems Young for Oscar.
Cerra and Martin as well?
Fog out...who else?
As a good omen I note Kade Simpson gonna talk in Ryder room pre game.
Sunday can't come fast enough.
