In for stocker and shuffle the magnets around a bit to make it work

Bar Cripps or Cerra missing a game, I think the next best shot Dow has would be replacing Kennedy. If Dow can transfer his ressies form across to the seniors, then I don't think there's a great deal between them. Dow more dynamic at stoppages, Kennedy a bit more involved in general play and with a better understanding of defensive positioning - both getting good clearance numberss but in different ways (Dow with burst, run and carry, Kennedy bringing in the outside mids by hand).

There's also the difficult to measure element of connectivity. Dow is getting silver service from Mighty Mirkov in the reserves, while in the seniors he'd have to be roving the opposition taps more often than not. And how well does he complement Cripps, Cerra and Hewett at the stoppages - not just theoretically/on paper, but on the first-hand viewing of the coaches.

There's also still some doubt in my mind on whether Dow has the confidence/maturity to come into the seniors and play the same we he does in the ressies. It would be great to see it happen, but I worry a bit that he'd instinctively defer to the established senior mids and end up playing a hesitant and reactionary game.

I think you might be forgetting the game against the 'stains last year where he had a bunch of clearances in the first quarter before Pittonet punched him in the head and gave him a concussion. If his confidence is boosted from his reserves performances, that would only help in his assertiveness.

Not to mention that Voss' ethos is all about everyone having/getting a go, and for others to support their teammates when it's their turn, regardless of who the supporter and supportee are.

Other than the fact Bam Bam is naturally much harder at it and can play forward AND is a terrific overhead mark?

Other than that, I agree.

ps hope Paddy makes it, but that may well be elsewhere...

this sounds a lot like the strategies employed by coaches the last few years, move players around into roles they are not really suited just to fit guys in, that didn’t seem to work

the rest of the competition the last 10 years seemed to go with let’s win games by playing as a football team and sometimes a few play a role because they have been trained in that role

I'd be quite sanguine about giving George another week off. I think most here know that i've been a longtime big fan of his, but quite frankly i'm much more relieved that Young is available this week than maybe George taking another week to get a niggly calf right.

I reckon we've got ample coverage for him this week, with all our other current mids up and firing, and now with Carroll and a hungry Dow ready as well. Fish played better up higher in the middle of the ground this week too. Our mids are stocked and all in form to rip the Crowbots over here.

If George has the slightest niggle, rest him again. Very important to have him back in ripping nick the week after. Of course, if he flies training this week and he's fine, then play him this week though.

Edit - Blue Balls said pretty much the same thing at same time.

Never ever heard the word Sanguine before, you learn something new every day.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed the entry gate for Legends Lounge, reserved seat holders to this match is not the Gate 5? Around near gate 5 at Marvel there's alot of construction going on maybe the reason we have different gate access to the ground?
Last week we went in through our normal gate 5 this week on our ticket is says enter via Gate 7 which is nowhere near our seats.
Strange.

Mine was gate 7 last week when it's always been gate 5 in previous years. We're in Aisle 34 on level 2 which is probably in the dead middle between the 2 gates. The construction certainly made exiting the ground to the station a bit more painful than normal.
