no matter how many times you keep saying this it wont all of a sudden become true.

newchurch has been good all year.
No he hasn't, that's definitely not the case, he's had maybe a handful of good games mostly when he's played further up the ground/wing.

Lord above - has ever a player done so little and has as many people carry on so much as Newchurch?

He's maybe had four good lower league games in his career. We've been carrying him this whole time and YES he's inproved, but he still can't back it up.

We've gone round the houses on this sort of stuff, I want Newchurch in the team because of the POTENTIAL ability he has ffs....

We are a rebuilding club....Whats this fixation with needing to be playing consistently week in and week out at SANFL level that some of our supporters have...

Ah it's the resident we need to delist / trade Fogarty poster, who now thinks Newchurch needs to dominate SANFL level before considstion at seniors.

Nice tantrum.
Weird that you think that's a tantrum. Stop being so sensitive.

it's frustrating the amount that people carry on about a player they clearly haven't seen.

If you've watched him play the last couple of years, you'd be more frustrated at Newchurch than the club.

I watch SANFL you don't and I don't know why all the carry on Newchurch will be with us in 2023...he was always a long term project.

Seriously there is some not many but bitter, angry old men on this board.

When their first post of the day at around 7am is just plain negative and continues for the rest of the day, you can imagine the quality of life they must be experiencing and living, where they need to use this forum as an outlet.

No. We should have rewarded Newchurch when he was doing well in the SANFL and placed him in the team in the AFL at the time.

Just in case.
He didn't string two good games together.

He got a few Joe the Goose goals by waiting along deep in the forward line, but that wasn't worth rewarding.

He had one EXCELLENT game but hasn't been able to play a single decent game since.

I've seen enough of Newchurch at SANFL level to realise he is exactly the type of player we need at AFL level and there is absolutely 0 harm in giving him blocks of games during this period....

if it gets us a potentially elite midfielder.. yes please.

Doedee and our 2022 1st out.. JHF in

worrell takes doedee’s spot.

2022 2nd and 2023 1st out… Rankine in

mcrouch out.. pick in the 50’s in
frampton out… pick in the 50’s out

these later picks used to match a bid on Max M..
Yes but Doedee isn't only "half decent" like you've suggested. His form early in the session was excellent and polled 13 AFLPA vote for a defender after round 6.

All I can say is if Geelong are interested in him I know which club I would trust in identifying talent, and it’s not the AFC.

He has to give some evidence of development, otherwise it's just gifting undeserving players games.

You do realise you don't have to reward players based purely on 'consistent' form, based on where we are as a club?

When Newchurch is ready to be playing consistently he is likely going to be say 22/23. Do we only then bring him into the AFL team, or do you want to have fast tracked his development so he is learning at the highest level - rather than in the reserves?

People need to start thinking more strategically about a lot of this stuff.

If we can waste 34 games on Rowe who we're going to delist after only two seasons, we can easily afford to give Newchurch (and Taylor) a couple of sighter games.
Rowe won the Ken Farmer medal as a small forward. He did something that demanded an opportunity. I really hope Newchurch does the same, I really do.

I really don’t understand the JHF trade talk. Regardless of home sickness and wants to come to the AFC, (V)AFL would burn the place to the ground before letting a first year Pick 1 leave to a non Vic team.
There are legal ramifications that threaten the whole draft and contract requirements that the AFL don't want to test in court.

I wonder why that is. Couldn’t be that he lost interest after selection integrity got thrown out the window and they preferred Murphy who in the same game got two goals handed to him on a platter from Tariek?

I've watched every game he's played and it's clear why they're persevering, but he has not shown enough to justify a senior opportunity.

Compare him to Worrall, who improved week on week and absolutely deserved what he got.

Charlie Cameron would still be playing SANFL if it was up to one or two posters on here.
