Channel 7 said Gold Coast Suns interested in Jed. Is there any scenario he will be offered a contract with Nth?

Not sure whether he would be offered a contract with us but could we use the GC salary cap squeeze to leverage something decent out of this? As it stands we may be offered a pick in the mid-40s or lower for Jed. Could we offer to pick up a decent chunk of his salary over a two-year period and receive their future second-round pick in return?

Nope.
If he had a contract with us we could pay that amount.
He does not so we cant.
We could approach someone like Fiorini and pay his full contract for a salary dump draft pick.
That would work
Something like.
Fiorini + second rounder for Jed.

And a push from clubs for 4 yr deals for first rounders as well
They brought in the 2 year rule after Chris McDermott and Andrew Jarman refused to go to the Bears after being selected in the same draft. And sooky Buckley then had to go there.

Why have compo for FA and then allow draftees to break one year in, when teams like Port don't want to give up anything in the trade?

Integrity of the draft my left one.

If there was any integrity, you wouldn't be allowed to trade future picks.

All that does is allow Geelong to turn GC into a feeder.

Had to laugh with you using integrity- afl is as corrupt as they come.

Spoke to a former player today at the AFLW match who said a lot of the ex players would be absolutley ropeable if North trade out their pick #1 as they see us needing a player like Cadman rather than another mid with our first pick..

Only slide 2 spots in the draft order and pick up another ok pick. Depending on the team and the draft it's a good deal. Pick 1 does has prestige attached to it though, it's not just a sterile draft mechanism, so a good sweetener wouldn't be out of the question.

EDIT: FML I can't believe I'm so conditioned to us being s**t that pick 12 is just an "ok" pick. I remember when we would bit peoples hands off for something like that.
It's really not ok imo

We hand over pick 1 for 3, 12 which is a win the equivalent of pick 36...

**** that, 3, 12, 18 or gagf

On SM-G991B using BigFooty.com mobile app

Jed would go real well at Gold Coast. They need that kind of guy, and he might be happier further north.

Still think he'll be top 22 for roos. Will be better for a preseason.
I reckon I could name 5 blokes who have contracts I would prefer to lose.
Love jed he is very unlucky.
