Which sets us up perfectly, say if Clarko wants Wardlaw and we know GWS want Cadman then why not trade pick 1 and get another 1st round pick (and whatever else).

Clarko would have pretty intricate knowledge of what Wardlaw, Sheezel, Clark, McKenzie and Ashcroft ect are like considering his son played in the same team.

Yep it wont be much. But it may get us points for cooper.
I hope he gets another club I've loved him as a north player.
Jed + F3 for 45+46 (678 points), which we can on-trade to Brisbane for one of their 2nd round picks? (pick 34 is 542 points)

Outside of the attempt at a Dunkley deal bris just needs points right?

Jed won’t be traded - he’s been told to wait for our offer after trade week.

I didn’t realise that, makes even more sense now, he knows exactly who he wants with our first pick which in turn gives us the option to trade pick 1.

Don’t think he missed a Sandy Dragons game all year. Even when his son wasn’t playing.

I mentioned on here maybe a month or two ago that I heard Sheezel strongly linked with us, and I keep hearing it.

There's a sense in which most players at the top-end are linked to clubs with picks at the top-end, but I'm hearing Sheezel a lot more than others.

So based on this; we know GWS are keen on Cadman, what are you hearing about who Wardlaw and Tsatas are being linked to?

Yep I’ve heard Sheezel has made a late run for us - my intel is still that we are trying to get 2 of Cadman/Wardlaw/Sheezel.

I'd like to preface this by saying I have absolutely no credible insight on these players at all. But I've formed a theory about players' names and the corresponding likelihood that they'll succeed. To me, Sheezel seems like the kind of name that a bust would have. Wardlaw, by contrast, is a name that I can very easily envision a highly successful player having. Cadman, I don't really feel anything either way. Other players who I've used this name theory to reasonable success with are Schache (bust), Anderson from GC, LDU, Butters, and Dow from Carlton (bust). Thanks for coming to my TED talk and I hope reading this comment makes you smarter than you were before

AFL trade period: AFL steps in to stop Port Adelaide trading two future picks in Jason Horne-Francis deal

www.heraldsun.com.au

The AFL has rejected Port Adelaide’s bid to sidestep league rules and trade future first-round and second-round picks to get Jason Horne-Francis to Alberton.

Clubs can trade multiple future selections as long as a first-round pick is not involved but the complexities of various brewing deals this fortnight led Power officials to ask if there was a way around those regulations.

The news is a setback to plans for a four-club megadeal that emerged on Friday night and would have involved the Power, North Melbourne, West Coast and Greater Western Sydney.

The Giants were set to score pick one, the Kangaroos selections two, three and possibly Port’s future first-rounder, the Eagles Nos.8 and 12, plus Horne-Francis and Junior Rioli would have arrived at the Power.

The Power have struggled to satisfy North in the first week of trades.
The Power have struggled to satisfy North in the first week of trades.

The idea was for a series of pick swaps this year and next to round out the deal, including Port Adelaide’s future second-round selection.
This development means the Power will almost certainly have to trade a player of decent value to gain an extra draft pick to unlock the deal.

GWS could also pivot to trade picks three and 12 – plus potentially a later selection as a sweetener – in return for North Melbourne’s No.1, which could be used on promising key forward Aaron Cadman.

Roos list boss Brady Rawlings has so far been adamant they expected more from Port than its pick eight and future first-round selection to broker a trade for young star Horne-Francis, last year’s top pick

Just don’t see how that “mega deal” benefits is. Ie/ we give up pick 1 from 21 and 22 draft for pick 2 and 3 in 22 and maybe a future 1st most like late first round. Nope that ain’t happening even if the afl allowed it!

So we do trade our pick 1?

Spoke to a former player today at the AFLW match who said a lot of the ex players would be absolutley ropeable if North trade out their pick #1 as they see us needing a player like Cadman rather than another mid with our first pick..
Not having a crack at you at all, but I give zero farts what former players think we should do when it comes to list management decisions.

I don't care who we pick as long as we don't make another huge mistake, and continue to accumulate very poor selections.

We can't afford to waste those picks as we have done so (not all, most)

We need to get better on and off the field to move up the ladder.
