Noticing Gaz (Lyon) is a lot more positive about North and our list now that Viney is on board, anyone else getting that vibe?
Dunno about that if his performance this morning is any guide.

Sat back and didn't say boo when the 5 Minute Fireman said he's never been more pessimistic about a Club in all his time.

Both of them must have been in a coma during Melbourne and Carlton's performances during the majority of the last 10 years.

He’s still trying to suck North supporters in?

Not sure where is the relevant place to post this, but thought this interview was really good about the club this year & where it's at.
Listened to this and confirmed 3 things; Josh is a good bloke. Andy Maher is a pompous twat. Gazey is actually quite dumb.

Certainly sounds like a rookie spot is a very real possibility for Josh I'm not completely opposed to this. My preference would be Jed for the the first rookie spot and then Josh if the club feels he's the next best option.

We asked for the additional list spots so we could keep senior talent to support the young guys. Keeping two of our own in those additional list spots is just doing with them what we asked the AFL for.

Yes I understand that I'm just not 100% convinced that Josh Walker is the best option for one of those spots that's all.

yeah, Josh sounded disappointed by realistic, he and Jed would be valuable role models and help sure up our VFL team, if not hope another clubs gives them a go. Could tell he didn't want to be drawn in on Judas, very much straight batted it, but couldn't care less about him leaving.

Gun. Here is my summary on him:

22. Billy Dowling 01/07/04 – North Adelaide – 187cm Midfielder - Putting up stupid numbers in the SANFL U 18's, averaging nearly 32 disposals and 1.5 goals per game. Also had a consistent champs where he was arguably SA's most consistent mid. Hard worker who impacts the contest with physicality. Has a mature body and isn't afraid to put it on the line. Works hard both ways and is often seen in D50 while playing in the midfield. His ability to accumulate is up there with the best in the draft and I feel he is underrated because he lacks a point of difference athletically. His ability to find the footy highlights his high footy IQ.
A short term Jed replacement, and a longer term Cunners replacement?

So from my recollection of the ins and outs so far the following is the current status:

Delisted/Traded
P Walker
M McGuinness
Hayden
Judas
Jed
J Walker
Atu
Turner

Ins
Logue
Tucker

So that's 8 departures and two arrivals.

Does that mean that, with the addition of the 2 additional rookie list spots, we currently have 8 more players to bring in?

What do you think the spread of those 8 will be?

I'm thinking 4 or 5 at the national draft, 1 or 2 delisted free agents, and 1 or 2 of Jed et al given a rookie lifeline. I can't see us taking anyone in the PSD at this stage.

7 in total.

4 seniors and 3 rookies.

In the video they said they’ll bring in four through the ND which indicates they’ll trade up 40 and 43.

They also said experienced players would come in through the rookie draft and not as DFA’s as they would take up a primary list spot.
That was my take away from the video too. Probably package those and maybe a future 3rd for something in rhe 20s if able.

It would be an omission not to mention Corn’s own 2011 Poort side.

I've always liked him as a panellist. I've always thought he's been quite fair with us. Criticism when it's due, but always credit where credits due.

Thats all I ask in a panellist. Not much to ask is it surely?

Far too much to ask; each panelist should have their own agenda, be a cheerleader for the club they played for and not have one original opinion or thought ever.

Straight from the Kane Cornes book of journalism lol
