GET LOUIS BUTLER!

Am I doing this right?
I'd rather say that Now's the Time to get Charlie Parker. I have Confirmation that he's just what we need. He'd bring great Dexterity to the role.

Zac Langdon given the lemon sarss from West Coke. Worth a look? Or is it a question of whats he done?

Certainly sounds like a rookie spot is a very real possibility for Josh I'm not completely opposed to this. My preference would be Jed for the the first rookie spot and then Josh if the club feels he's the next best option.

I understand why people like Walker (and Jed). So no disrespect to you and others at all.

What i don't understand is why supporters are insistent on using up list spots for old players who've been given their chance at AFL level.

List spots (including rookies) should be treated with more value, and for mine the opportunity cost clearly outweighs the limited help back up veterans are for a wooden spoon team.

I would say if we are in a similar spot next year than the two previous then having capable depth isn’t too bad an idea

From my perspective I think list spots are relative to where each particular the club is at. For example clubs competing for finals such Cats, Lions, Tigers etc. can take a punt on a rookie, who may not make it, as they have more talent, depth and experience across their list. Whereas a club like ourselves in the early stages of rebuilding don't have the same talent, depth and experience and proven performers such as Jed (and to a lesser degree) Josh can be used for those rookie spots. It's a more considered and cautious approach to list management but is reflective of where we're at.

Why? (all good on your opinion)

We are last for a reason.

The reason is because we aren't good enough.

Players like Jed and Walker cannot fix that - using up list spots for back up veterans simply is poor list management imho.

Fantastic answer and I appreciate the discussion and I do understand where you are coming from.

I however say I disagree, however that doesn't make me right.

People having opinions tgat can be justifiable is. a huge reason I love the forum.

End of the day we all want to win (especiallyanother Premiership), to me that is the most important of why we are here.

It's tough times on field, but I'm convinced we'll turn it around sooner rather than later one way or another strategy wise.

Cheers. MLC.

Zac Langdon is a crab.

People here are so used to mediocre to shite players on our list that they just can’t let go ….
I said it before, until we don’t get rid of these list cloggers & give the untried youth a go , we will never know yet alone someway improve.

I wonder if the Bombers would be interested in a trade given were not apparently into wardlaw anymore.
Say go from 3 to pick 4 and grab their future 2nd for our future 3rd or something.

No, but at the same time there needs to be coverage of experience in case we get smashed by injuries/poor form. There is a spot for one or two players on the list that can do that, means we don’t have to keep playing non performing players or playing players before they are ready.

I’d sooner jed than any of these other crabs being thrown around

How has that worked out for us the last 2 seasons?

Every team has what you define as 'list cloggers'. Every. Single. Team.

Yep, spot on. Get the best 22-25 right, and the list cloggers don't look as bad. They suddenly become ''depth'' players. They also become more attractive, to oppo clubs.
