I was very worried when the pick #5 plus a player thing was going around but Pick #3, Future 1st and 40 for JHF is a win.
Given how we expect the drafting to happen (barring any surprises) we lost nothing by moving 1 to 2.

added benefit, now we have chips for other deals and players.

honestly surprised WCE said yes though

but trading pick 1 to pick 2 for nothing just to satisfy a 'mega trade' makes no sense.

pick 1 should've net us pick 3 and 12 or 15
JHF should've net us pick 2 and future 1st (later 1st rounder) or 3 x middle-late 1st rounders

all i can see from this trade is we swapped a middle to late first round pick for pick 40. disappointing.

If we do that trade I'm going to scream. We need to stop screwing around, just pick at 2 and 3, keep Ports F1st, if we can get Clark with the a combination of the other ones then fine. If we do a bad deal with a top 3 pick after working so hard and paying so much to get here I'm going to lose my mind.

If we don't do this trade, after the draft we have Wardlaw and JHF

Having done this trade, we will have Wardlaw, Sheezel, Port F1, 40, 43.

So the difference is:
Out - JHF
In - Sheezel (pick 3), Port F1, 40, 43

We have moved from 2 to 1 but we don't lose value there because GWS want a guy that we wouldn't have taken with our top 2 picks.

I kind of get it but haven’t we also given up pick 1 from this year? It seems like we should have gotten at least one more top ten pick, but then what would know
