Pick #1 for Ben King and a top 10 pick back.

Would we consider it?

Would they?

Any wonder his last kick was Mahonyesque
Yep, others also sitting on level 1 have talked about how poor the kicking has looked and sounded up close.

The sound of Corr kicking his long, penetrating kicks is completely different from say a Taylor kicking across the ball/deflecting it as he kicked a high, weak 40 metre ball down the line.

Hypothetical.

Gold Coast trade Rankine to Adelaide and receive pick 5 as part of the compensation and potentially pick 23. They already have picks 7 and 25.

I doubt they would view pick 1 alone as a fair trade for pick 5 plus 7. What could we sweeten the deal with to make that attractive to them?

Would you view pick 5 or 7 plus 23 and 25 as a fair return for pick 1?

personally I want 2 top 10 picks for pick 1. Not interested in anything less. We need top level talent, we have enough role players.

It'd be great if he was able to get fit again and we could add experience, ground coverage and ball use without having to recruit anyone. Big ask for him to get back to winger level running, though, when he's been out injured so much and his foot will limit his loading.
Yes, he's an outside player who cannot do the work required to be a good outside player at AFL level. If he could do that work, he'd be valuable but as he can't, the sooner we stop wasting our time with him the better.

My point was rather that he’d run 16k and that was obviously why his last kick was quite lacking in oomph. But yeah, we’re far from wonderful kicks in general.

Lazzaro, Mahony, Walker, Turner, Hall , Hayden and Atu plus our first. Deal done.

Okay using the 2018 draft as a hypothetical. Sam Walsh went at 1 and he is a great player. 5 and 7 were Conner Rozee and Bailey Smith.

As good as Walsh is I'd take the pair of Smith and Rozee.
anyone wana run a google sheets rules report comparing pick 1 to 5 and 7 for the last 20 years.... wouldn't be too hard...

Yeah it's definitely good to see he's got his tank fitness up to such a high level. So that's the good. The not so good is his ball drop and lack of kicking penetration. Clarko didn't have too many poor-ball-dropping, non-penetrating kicks in his sides at Hawthorn.
