Melbourne will end up taking whatever our best offer is. Hopefully it’s 13 and F1 at worst and that’s it.

Question is: Can Jackson put a price on his head for PSD? Like 3 million for 2 years… knowing no one will pay that, including Eagles.

We do, but then restructure his contract after 1 year?

Completely dodgy but could it be done?
AFL has to approve it

Brissy got away with it with Daniher but we will be unlikely to...

Front end Jackson’s contract for one year which slightly reduces the subsequent years. That is exactly what Carlton did with Jack Martin.

West Coast won’t be able to afford him. Even if he nominated marginally above his existing Freo contract if they manage to squeeze him in it would likely set their salary cap over the edge.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t have pick 1 or 2 in the PSD. The past like 10 years there has been no more than like 1-2 selections. In many years there has been no PSD because no clubs have participated.

My read is that main pieces of the trade 13 & F1 has been set and the two clubs are haggling over getting a sweetener. Melbourne wants more and Freo wants more.

The way I see it is we swap a Future for a current. My thought would be a F3 for 54. Freo may be waiting to see what Melbourne get from Toby Bedford trade.

Lions did this with Daniher

Daniher's salary remains the same as it was when he signed the free agency deal, they just added extra cheap years.

As a PSD selection Freo can restructure the deal however it likes. But Jackson is not obligated to accept a change.

You can pay him $2,000,000 for one year and he can say he wants a new six year 5m deal. What are you going to do?

How do we get the club to engage in Carlton level campaigneriness??

I would love us to walk LJ to the PSD and keep our picks. It’s time we stopped being a bunch of softcocks.

Is there a petition I can sign?

He can but the first club in the draft to match it can take him.

It's hard to imagine any price that we could match but would be too rich for North.

If he goes to the PSD why wouldn't North pick him?

This is as close as I can get
Port: Literally cant give up anymore I dont think so that's straight forward. This is capping em out
WC: Rioli is not worth 25, no matter what they say, but they need more than 8 and 12 for 2, so it shakes out
Cats: I dont think Pies accept 25 for Henry so this makes it work for them
North: Possibly still getting dudded but man, the ultimate death ride next year
GSWS: 3 and 12 is the cost for 1, if North finish last again, that F2 is worth 18 this year and then some, 43 just ices it.
Bris: Have the two firsts they need for Dunkley, some more points and means we'd get 18 for Lobb which would be delicious on the Lobb thread. The melts would be incredible

That’s a decent effort. Nothing looks noticeably miles off… maybe Geelong only upgrading 4 spots, but 21 gets them Henry.

I’d imagine there will also be future picks swaps to further balance, but this wouldn’t be far off.

What's happened regarding Meek?

Once the Jackson trade goes through I suspect Lobb likely happens quickly. Which leaves us with Meek who would be unlikely to stay beyond his contract.

Meek for Neale from Geelong could be a useful trade for us. Without knowing how he is going, Neale projects as having genuine forward capacity as well as some ruck depth.

My reading of Geelong is that someone as a #1 ruck could be a better fit than Neale.

Not sure how the trade currency works.

Neale is going well, so well they shifted Ratagulea back.

not sure if Meek would suit the way they play…at least at the moment.
they have the the three mobile Rucks including Hawkins in the forward half.

but I like the idea, and he’s in our age range
