Are we allowed to trade a future 3r? (think we only have Norths now)

I'd happily trade Meek and a future 3rd for Hawks second or future second, then either keep the pick or ontrade that to the Suns and get Sharp.

I think Sharp would be alright for us and if Lobb stays, I'd happily trade Meek
We have Carlton’s F3 and North’s PP F3.

God you are all so miserable. Walls has done wonders for us, and clearly J Lo has identified another big body as a need. Losing Mundy, Acres (yes I know, but 2022 Acres used his big body very well) leaves a huge hole in that department. Do we seriously think Longmuir and Walls would do this if they didn't think it would benefit us? They have the runs on the board for me to trust them.

Hawthorn under Mitchell play a quite variable game style, it’s more of an opposition based thing than anything set

Lead this season and was top 3 in average last season, you can’t say he “doesn’t tackle”
Sorry I can and I do say he doesn't tackle. Watch replays of their games, he doesn't tackle, doesn't defend with gut run, doesn't protect other Hawthorn players in the stoppages and doesn't have second half endurance running. All of which is why Sammy Mitchell wants him out of Hawthorn.

I'd be excited about the pre-injury GC version who looked like being the best player in the game at out point, less enthused about this version.

If the price is just Meek, then I will with hold the melts and at least be meh with the idea More than Meek and i'll do absolutely nothing while being very very annoyed
Its hard to get enthused about this version though cause he wasnt playing pure mid at hawks this year 🤗.

Ill probably eat my words next year but Im gonna back it in if it happens.

Brayshaw, Serong, Omeara, Fyfe, Brodie, Erasmus, Johnson and Jackson. Not a bad assortment of mids to pick from

Yes we could use another big bodied, experienced, injury free, defence first endurance running midfielder.
That ain't JOM, actually moving Aish inside, giving Brodie more inside game time, having Banfield run as a mid (:eek::eek::eek:) or trusting Wallsy to recruit a mature ager with pick 73 or 89 or 97 is all far better than trading a first, second or third rounder for a known, declining, injury prone and non defensive footballer in JOM.

Where's the fun in blindly trusting everything the club does without having an opinion? Trade period is for two things
A) Melting when we inevitably overvalue our teams players and gets unders
B) Melting when we inevitably undervalue other teams players and overpay

There is no calm rational in between for trade week

Also, why is a good 28 year old big bodied midfielder a s**t trade target but picking up a 29 year old, overweight forward pocket who is currently retired the best thing since sliced bread?

All for picking up Tippa btw, trying to prove a point
Cost and risk. We trial tippa, and sign him for free if it works out. JOM at this point looks like costing way too much. No one would be complaining if he were getting him for free

You seriously don’t know why?

Maybe go back to this years stats and see where our fwd line ranks for a start

Out: Mundy, Logue, Acres, Lobb, Tucker and Meek

In: Jackson, Corbett, JOM, Sharp
Is Sharp still likely?? I thought I heard Rohan O’Brien say on 6PR tonight that Gold Coast won’t be trading him.

We will need an F2 to make This happen and if JOM is coming which is a big if, then the trade will involve JOM and Meek with no F2 coming our way. Seems to be rather deaf the trade for Sharp.

I don’t think some people realise that a 5 game and 0 game player in Ras and Johnson are not going to replace Acres and Mundy in a team that is opening up its Tilt window

JOM has had top 10 finishes and 2 x top 3 finishes in Hawthorns B&F the guy can play. If the price is right well worth a look.

I generally trust your judgement BeinPurplenGreen, so I hope, the way it’s looking, that you’re wrong this time.

If Mitchell is worth a Pick around 41 now, then what is Omeara actually worth? Gonna be so interesting tomorow

Because the 28 year old is no longer good, has a lengthy injury history, can't endurance run anymore, doesn't defend, and is playing at a position where we already have heaps of promising younger, fitter less injured kids - whereas the 29 year old (he is actually 27), "overweight" (he weighs less than Schultz or Banfield) currently retired player is a pacey, highly defensive pressure forward with a great record of 4th quarter tackling, turnover creation and accurate kicking for goal. Which are all desperate areas of need for us. Plus he's on a lower salary than JOm and won't cost us picks.

Really?

Many folks said Noddy and Amiss wouldn't play until 2024 or 2025.

I'd back Ersasmus and a fit Johnson well ahead of an old, injury prone and declining JOM.

Tom Mitchell is worth more than Jaeger right, right????

I think Hawks MIGHT be on a hiding to nothing on this one, they half tried to push them out last year and they are doing the same again. Hard to keep doing it every trade period and not actually follow through. Think there's going to be some melting in that Draft board thread when this is done
