As I said, it’s not the “incident”, it’s that he’s stupid enough to travel to Bali in round 14, be at a party, be filmed, be filmed in a way that’s clearly a red flag for woke and alarmist media to run a mile with, return late and miss a training etc.

Agreed

This holier-than-thou moral outrage at him getting a bit freaky with a hot girl is what i have the issue with

Not sure I’d run with the ADHD as a defence of some of his more reprehensible actions and whilst I’ve said his bali escapades are absolutely a media story to me it’s more that he went at all than what he did while there.

Doesn’t diminish that I’d take him in a heartbeat fir the right price

I see.
Imo both he and the heavy abusers are in the wrong (his decision making and hanging around slippery slopes, not the interaction with the woman itself).

If we actually focus on the trade as is the thread topic, his latest misstep was incredibly stupid.
It may work for us if we do target him as we have one more reason to heavily load the contract with clauses. Essentially sitting him on a trap-door if he doesn’t pull his weight performance wise, or if he’s stupid enough to continue to repeat his mistakes.

Interesting trade period for us across the board!

players of his calibre dont have said clauses. it's like hanners they always get base payments regardless.

its the club that will carry the risk. not the player.

I was diagnosed with ADHD back in 2020 as a 30 year old.

It certainly does impact your ability to control impulses. I'm not saying JDG shouldn't be held accountable for his behaviour, but if my worst moments were aired out in the media, I would be a social pariah, just like I'm sure a lot of posters on here regardless of whether they have a developmental neuropsychiatric condition or not.

One thing I will say, is that if he is going to succeed he will need tight parameters.

Given his history and condition, letting him go to a place like Bali was just asking for trouble.

when i was pissed at 2am i saw these cherry pickers and i said to my mate, lets get in and drive them around the city. i thought it'd be hilarious to drive around in one and raising/lowering it.

i go to climb into it, and i'm like "hang on... this is a really bad idea" and we stopped.

i'm guessing this means i don't have ADHD. otherwise i would have had a slow speed chase with some cops where i eventually raise my self to a bridge or building or overpass and run away.

He certainly has the wrong people advising him.

This in a nutshell.

It was CHOGM!

But more seriously I find that behaviour towards women reprehensible and if condoned is the sort of behaviour that leads to other issues.
The woman in question has made a statement saying she had no issue with it at all. A glance at her social media and it’s easy to see she thrives on classless activities.
More lip-filler than brains, much like Jordan is unlikely to be splitting the atom any time soon. Good footballer, seemingly dumb as a post.
Too much attention is being placed on “mistreatment of women” and not on the decision making processes surrounding the entire fiasco.

He has a history of having incidents with women which goes against him.
Surely the likes of Whately and Robinson aren't saying the latest incident was disrespectful to the women involved?
Surely not.

Dude... he went to bali.... danced with a hot chick and got a bit horny

She was fine

More than fine

How's this for a wild thought... maybe she was horny too... perish the thought

Because all women only want to be made sweet love to by a virgin knight in shining armour in a field of butterflies with air supply playing in the background

What's actually disrespectful to women is the way we decide what is ok and what isn't for them.... based on some f*cked up moral code.

Some women love a wild time... God love 'em. How dare we place this archaic set of rules on them so we're comfortable in our own skin.

The woman in Bali came out and basically said wtf are you all on about

FMD... seriously
Ah the Harvey Weinstein approach. Girls get horny too so it's ok to try and pull their clothes off

Cousins had behavioral clauses. Granted he had much bigger issues he was coming back from but he was also a higher caliber than De Goey.

I’d suggest the club shoukd insist on them, if he doesn’t go for it let him stay at collingwood (or wherever).

Not putting some clauses in his contract woukd be idiotic.

It would be a problem if the girl in question thought it was problematic. She seems to be fine with it.
If she had not been fine with it DeGoey would have had his contract ripped up and nobody would have had sympathy for him.

If this was say Hunter Clark who did the exact same thing as Degoey, it would have been a story for 24 hours as he is a clean skin.
DeGoey has form, and to put himself in that situation was stupid at best.

I might be old school but I have never looked to footballers as role models or for moral guidance, but I'm the first to admit my moral compass is terribly flexible and in a fun kind of way, but what I really want to know is what percentage of the younger generation between say the ages of 16 and 40 are not like me, and in actually fact do look to footballers for moral guidance?

The most insidiously stupid take I have read on this issue.
Thankfully you and your high horse opinions mean very little to me.

My comment was probably in bad taste and was definately tongue in cheek, however Jordan has a history of disrespect towards women and saying his actions are fine because the girl was ok with it is wrong.

What if the girl wasn't ok with it and just didn't want to make headlines?

What if Jordan payed her to say that?

What if now genuinely thinks it's ok to do that to women and continues to do it to other women he doesn't know?

If you were being filmed at a bar and someone pulled your jocks off and exposed your dick which then made it on mainstream news would you think it's ok?

I hope we don't pick up Jordan and hope women are treated differently by the time my daughter's are old enough to go to bars.

I think if anything younger people are now much more aware that footballers are not good role models than I was as a kid.
