Maybe he's somewhat affected by the fact that he's all over the news in one of the biggest beat ups in recent afl media history.

If you are intimating he has a drug problem, might be best to present any type of evidence.
No one has suggested that in the slightest.
Drawing along bow from all of this.i'd say he has a problem meeting the requirements to being a professional footballer, people can cut that any which way they want.
if people think this is about him going outside the country and to bali, they'd be wrong. two other pies players went to bali, separate to DeGoey. his manager also stated they had no issue with DeGoey going to bali given he would be following the clubs fitness program.
if people think this is really about him getting loose with some lady in a club they're extremely gullible. the video from two other pies players was probably just as bad as respect to women goes.
clubs don't put contract talks on hold over something consensual as that.
clubs will put contract talks on hold if the players behaviour will stop them from meeting the requirements of being a footballer. in the same week he CANNOT attend training. not many reasons why he can't attend training, its a very very very short list.
He's a highly paid footballer. Dusty somehow manages to stay out of the limelight, despite earlier being seen as a bad boy. Jordan clearly needs to wake up.Wouldn't surprise me if he walks away from footy for good. No matter what he does for the rest of his career, one perceived slip up will be all it takes to be front page of the papers, top of the Twitter list and the #1 story on all other forms of football media. Who would want to live with that kind of scrutiny?
Whatever happens the Pies cooled on him and DeGoey most probably wants away from there now.Drawing along bow from all of this.
Was training every day in Bali, has been the biggest story in football for a week and would be stressed.
Collingwood have put talks on hold because they can now give him a haircut AND have him on parole. He plays up they don't have to pay up.
Unless there is substantive evidence to the contrary, anything else is speculation.
They would take no responsibility. Lip service to inclusiveness, and fight racism, etc etc, pat themselves on the back about Spuds round, but relentlessly attack someone already going through hell. The afl media are relentless, soulless vultures. They won't stop until some young player necks themselves. Even that would probably only slow them down for a bit.

Spotted training privately late this afternoonhasnt been at training all week... now on personal leave...

Maybe those groping girls got a soft no from gringo?
i dont see how it gives him a haircut or puts him on parole though...Drawing along bow from all of this.

his market value is what it is, collingwood putting contract talks on hold doesn't alter that one little bit. clubs X and Y will still offer him what theyre prepared to pay regardless of what collingwood do. all they'd risk in doing this is pissing of DeGoey and pushing him out the door, which tells you its not about trimming his contract but instead holding the line on what is acceptable standards for an AFL listed player.
putting him on parole too i dont get, the pies told him that prior to and after the NYC incident. similar to the incidents before it. it did nothing. they would have had conversations with him around the bali trip, given his manager said they held no concerns.
so what happened that made them walk away?
if its just reputational damage then surely its higher than what ever $$$ they save from a so called trim if they did get one.
the truth doesnt get out until well after these things are settled. watch him go to another club and watch the leaks start hitting the minute the deal is done.
Just reiterating what Eddie McGuire said on ch 9. I would assume he would know one or two at Collingwood.i dont see how it gives him a haircut or puts him on parole though...

It is deceiving on how a team values a player , a guy like Zac Williams gets a 5yr contract said to be 900k a year and has only been a good to fair halfback flanker and then we pickup a proven A grade midfielder in Crouch for 600k a year.I reckon they just see it as a way to sign him on $300k PA less.
Exactly this. He has certainly put a dent into the high premium he was asking.I reckon they just see it as a way to sign him on $300k PA less.
Clubs will be offering 700k or more knowing some of the spuds that are on that money.Exactly this. He has certainly put a dent into the high premium he was asking.

Hahaha imagine being upset a young bloke takes a holiday on his week off and enjoys himself.
I can guarantee you or your sons and daughters do basically the same thing. Only difference is they aren’t famous.
The good point about picking up DeGoey is he not going to cost us anything trade wise , leaving our draft picks same as Amon and Brayshaw.100%
north melbourne seem to love guys at the pies with a pretty s**t work ethic
essendon or the dogs might go nibling
the you have the interstate clubs who might think getting out of melb might be 3/4 of the battle
I think there could be a lot of truth in this. The departure of Eddie will have removed most of the spine from the executive. JDG probably told he was on his last chance and although it's a nothing incident they can use it to pull the rug out. Or the whole thing's being managed.i'm getting big stephenson vibes in their treatment of him. i reckon they might just be done with him
