Well if its how you say, then we're going to be screwed when its time to sign up Owens, Windhager, NWM etc on their second contract, or if others like Coffield and Clark start playing really well.
Not really because we’ll managed clubs get close to guessing when certain players retire or start earning less.

King was reported at 4 x 750
Steele took a lot less then he could've got was reported around 650 to 700
Hill is still highest paid by a fair bit
Club is in a good position as they had managed the cap and put a fair bit away in case Ben King decided to come home
Not sure that is true but if I said they were earning less they would be earning more. No idea where these figures were reported but happy for you to prove me wrong. Puts us in a better position than some in the media have said.

As I said in another thread.... De Goey is a yes for me. With where we're at right now, I think he'd be a great addition. X factor player that can tear it up. Bring it on.
Happy for him to be paid more then Steele & King ?
It will take 5 x 850 to get him you would think

SCROLL DOWN FOR THE RICH 100 LIST BELOW

King joined fellow Gold Coast top-six picks Jack Lukosius (pick No. 2 in the 2018 national draft) and Izak Rankine (pick three) in signing bumper deals at the end of their debut seasons.

All of them had the pull of home as Adelaide outright threatened to keep knocking until local boys Lukosius and Rankine answered.

Lukosius’s salary is believed to be around $600,000 this year.

While it is big money for third-year players, the Suns must pay it given St Kilda continuously pitches deals to reunite Ben with his brother Max at Moorabbin.

Max King isn’t being short-changed at the Saints, his new four-year deal understood to be worth around $750,000 a year from next season onwards.

Well done L. Leonard, loving your work as always

imagine him and stringer playing in the same mid-forward role
I imagine him and Stringer playing together, but it would be more news fit for the front pages than the back pages.

Not keen on letting either into Moorabbin. There's rogues then there's these two.

Change of subject - do you know what the deal is to watch the the unification world title fight between George Kambosos Jr and Devin Haney on TV ?

I thought you said you were against the vicious sport of boxing?

Yeah, De Goey seems a right turd of a bloke

Good memory George. Re: your question, depends what day it is or which way the wind is blowing.
$59.95 is a bit of an ask though....

For a team about to be contending, to add 2x good FAs in DeGoey and Amon would be huge for onfield quality. Personalities to one side, the onfield boost would be huge.

McGrath I'm not sold on, not for what Dodo will want. Free hits at DeGoey and Amon is enticing though!

Put all sorts of termination clauses in DeGoey's contract while we're at it

Penalty clauses ... gonna have to rewrite the book on drafting AFL contracts ...

I'll take some pictures for you

On De Goey, I think if Hill copped it as a whipping boy when he wasn't in form, De Goey would be much worse. At his best he looks incredible, but he is rarely at his best. He plays one good game every handful. Paying a guy like that big money wouldn't sit well with me. Not to mention he seems like an absolute campaigner, and I prefer to like our players. If he was one of the best in the competition, I can look past it, but I don't think he's going to deliver consistently high output. I really hope the rumors aren't true and we go nowhere near him.

At the moment, we are top 4 offensively when we get it inside 50, and our real strength is our defence. Our major weaknesses at the moment are clearances and generating inside 50s. I would much rather a Josh Dunkley or similar. I have a feeling he would even cost less than De Goey, and his output would be much higher.

No idea what stringer has done wrong but he isn’t obviously on our radar. Hopefully degoey is. It’s like people can’t trust our club. I just think that’s a bad way of thinking. Again I think he he close to zero chance.

I would be fine with that because he’s the type of player that could drag us to a flag. He almost did it for Collingwood in 2018 and may have if he didn’t get injured in 2019. He’s a special talent, his problem is that his best is so good that people expect him to replicate it every week which is very hard to do.
