Isn't the list manager role almost an admin role?
Chris Libratore was the Recruiting Manager. I hope we aren't going to just replace him internally ( He was a state recruiter under Trout ) but time is running out before the draft.
He's been replaced by Chris Toce

I think recruiting is just focusing on the draft

Gallagher would have a large say on what players we bring in and out via trades

If we gave Clark, Long for an injury ridden Bowes with a huge contract and 7, I would be appalled.
Long should be enough if Bowes is a salary dump.
But reckon Clark too.... holy hell.
This x 100

They just said something along those lines on the news on TV. Didn’t catch who they were talking about but it wasn’t Bruhn, so was presumably Bowes.
Could have been about Oliver Henry from Collingwood who reportedly wants to go to Geelong. Apparently been dressed head to toe in Geelong gear the past 2 days, including being at their celebrations today.

ST KILDA

Players that could leave

After a season that started with so much promise, the Saints fell away at the end of 2022. And already there’s movement at the club. Ben Long has requested a trade to the Gold Coast. But as a non-free agent, a deal will need to be done. Jack Bytel is reportedly on Essendon’s radar. The midfielder, who was once touted as a top 10 pick before a serious back injury struck, failed to play a game in 2022 and has just 16 games under his belt in three seasons at the Saints. Hunter Clark may be contracted for 2023, but there’s reports he’s wanting to get to North Melbourne this trade period. Essendon is another club in the mix for Clark should he decide his future is not at St Kilda. Brad Hill is another Saint reportedly keen to get to the Roos where he reunited with former coach Alastair Clarkson. Hill still has three years to run on his big money deal at the Saints. Zak Jones and Tom Highmore are other players with an uncertain future at the Saints who could look for a new home.

Players that could arrive

It’s appearing more and more unlikely that out-of-contract Pie Jordan de Goeywill land at the Saints. Despite a reported big money deal, the Collingwood star is set to snub St Kilda’s offer to move to Moorabbin. But St Kilda are reportedly in the mix to lure Suns defender Jack Bowes away from the Gold Coast. Bowes endured a tough 2022 campaign due to injury, and is now open to a new opportunity at another club. It’s also believed the Suns want to offload Bowes as part of a salary cap dump for the final two years of his “heavily back-ended” deal. Liam Stocker is looking for a new home after being delisted by the Blues. And if the likes of Hill, Long and Jones all depart, there’s some midfield space for a player like Stocker – and he won’t break the bank either.

Who's already gone

Dan Hannebery (retired), Paddy Ryder (retired), Jarryn Geary (retired), Dean Kent (retired), Darragh Joyce (delisted)

Draft picks

9, 27, 45, 81

Doubt that's the case - unless he was paying them for the first three years of his contract extension.

They'd just lost three players so they were desperate to keep players and did that by offering offering contract extensions. Would have underpaid for the first three years and then overpaid the last couple probably averaged out at $500k, so I'd be guessing at closer to $800k per year from now on.

That said if we got Bowes and Pick 7 for the cost of Clark, Long and some loose change I'd be rapt.
Yeah seemed way over but who knows how that place operates

Apparently Bowes was a huge Lenny Hayes fan growing up.

Hopefully a big selling point to help us get that pick 7.

Thank you Jesus.
I love the itk stuff and unfortunately what Hilly said is probabl
No comment on his performance but I hear some of the most vile s**t thrown his way by our supporters some weeks. Hurts to imagine saints fans shitting on our own
Have heard about a player from another team getting villied and threaten by his own teams fans after missing goals in a final last year.
He is a first nations player and has mentioned how low he felt when his skin colour and heritage was attacked.
It needs to stop!

Looks good in the Red Black & White

On the main board trade thread about Jack Bowes.

There is a bloke called Mr North Man that said Bowes will nominate Geelong and if he doesn’t go there he will stay with the Suns.
Saw that too. It will be a tough fit for the Cats you’d think, considering his loaded contract that’s remaining and a team of GF stars 💰. Time will tell…

Imagine if he goes to Geelong AND they get pick 7.

I assume they have a salary cap like all other clubs? Shocking look for the competition if it happens.

I was reading he wants to play more midfield, Geelong doesn’t seem the fit considering this year’s team and their performance. Unless there’s bulk retirements.

The players they have had they should of won more than 1 in ten years , but is this the last roll of the dice for most of these Cats players - Selwood , Smith , Dangerfield , Hawkins , Bilcavs , Stanley , Toohey , Stewart are all in there 30s or more so they will need at least 8 very good players to the ones they will lose in the coming years.
Even Cameron is around 30yrs old.
