They can easily water them down so they only apply in the most serious of circumstances and are basically superfluous.

Reckon a lot the clauses he’d be rejecting would pretty much stripping him of freedom. Whether you think he deserves a tight leash or not, no one would happy going to work for 5 years with unrealistic restrictions on their life

I can understand why he'd be unhappy about being singled out for special treatment.

I don't see how the Collingwood board can remove the conditions now. They would effectively be saying the players have more power than the club.

Saints directly addressed the behavior issues with DeGoey when offering him the deal.

Like how houses have sold themselves in Australia due to massive undersupply relative to demand for the last 20 years...
Doesn't mean real estate agents are good at what they do just because prices have boomed.

Even without the clauses, what’s to stop the Pies from pushing him out the door in 2-3 years anyway.

Seemed to rack it up at VFL level and is a good size. Hard midfield to squeeze into at Brisbane

He breaks laws and get pinged for it... so be it, that is his problem. Does not reflect poorly on the club in my opinion as we dont exactly spruik poor values. All contracts would have standard clauses that would allow an employer to terminate employment if it was bad enough. Dont need extra specials for him.

Look JDG can turn games. He is, unfortunately a match winner that only needs a handful of touches to do it. We are kinda lacking in that area.
