Not the highest priority, but we could good do with an electric small forward either thru trade or draft. Butler and Higgins essentially have no pressure for that spot and Higgins isn't exactly the electric type. Butler could be, but he relies on getting out the back with his pace
His name is Jade Gresham but he’s desperate to be a midfielder

We still telling ourselves Zak Jones little break was mental health or sanctioned for other reasons because whatever happened, he also lost his talent.

If we got Degoey he would have to be floated for trade. A late third rnd pick would be enough

Jones is like Zorko, the players know he is easy to wind up and put off his game.

He's had 9 out of 108 games over 20 disposals. I know it isn't everything but he's very low production. They grabbed Brodie in and left him out. You'd want to get him as a DFA to bother.
Yes exactly he’s shown a bit but nothing to demand anything other than a couple of years and a late Pick. Has a mason wood vibe to me, he has talent but somehow opportunities and injuries haven’t lined up for him. We were linked to him in the draft but we overlooked him so who knows probably nothing in it.

I read this as us trading De Goey for a third rounder!

Could be a brilliant move. Sign him on day 1 of the FA window then turn around a week later and offload him to another team for a 'free' draft pick haha
Ok, just reading the HS and it was reporting Vic clubs are enquiring about him

We’re bloody close though, in serious danger of becoming everyone else’s second team and the object of pity.

I think that ship sailed years ago, actually might have sailed straight past that and into the irrelevancy Bermuda Triangle now. People who follow footy can't really place us on the ladder. Mates who follow footy ask where we finished.

Might be time for a snooze big fella. Everyone knows Essendon hold that crown. The loud, "ruthless" bunch that can't read the room. Like a drunk bloke at a party that's dacked himself and smashed a bottle over his head while granny is trying to get through her birthday speech.

He's more like a lesser Hunter Clark to me. Doesn't really have a spot but does have a penchant for injuries that no-one can believe. Still has enough good will built up from showing snippets to keep interest up though. He could be good still but at 25 patience is starting to wear thin with him. Best case he's a Jack Newnes/ Mason Wood solid citizen IMO. Worst case he clogs a list spot up for a couple of years that could have been used on a speculative pick.

The more I think about Amartey, the more expensive I think he'd be. With Buddy leaving this year or next and Hickey near the end, as well as Callum Sinclair just retiring and Ladhams a loose unit, I do think the Swans would drive a pretty hard bargain and demand a lot for him. Just how much is the question? 🤔

Rowell started with a bang but has settled as a bit of a nothing inside mid. Looks very Dunstan now. Anderson on the other hand. Yes please, pay what ever he costs. He'll be a top shelf player.

So you are saying get Rowell and were are certain to make finals

He's like the undeveloped, low production era Dunny. He wouldn't even do that. I think Crouch or Mitchell would have though if that gets you going.

Papley says hi.

He's the only example I can remember them holding against their will, they are usually very accomodating. Probably helped that he played every game in their best 22 so it wasn't like moving on a guy working hard in the reserves.

It’s almost time for a beer as I contemplate how the Red Sox are last in our devision whilst paying over the cap. The patriots are looking like a good chance to finish below everyone but the jets, who needs an offensive line not us. Meanwhile back at the ranch we’re trying to figure out if lethlean is a genius or biff, if it’s the later we’re in for some real pain yet again.

Another one about 10 years ago, was it Bolton. Anyway being mischievous, Carlton chased Papley when he was contracted but wouldn't stump up what he was worth.

Don't blame Sydney in thge slightest, and hasn't seemed to have affect Papley's output for the Swans at all.

Ryan O’keefe, don’t worry they’re no different to most teams.

They do manage players differently, they are usually happy to work with who ever the player wants to move to in a constructive manner. They seem to have less ego on the line. Bell and Dodoro types seem to want to scare off raiders by playing it out in the most painful manner so that no-one comes chasing their players.

Helps to be stacked with academy kids so always run a surplus of talent.

At the risk of starting another fire, Dunstan was our best mid and close to best player in the second half of the year or at least second best. If you can't see how that might have helped us win a couple of extra games especially with Steele, Gresham and Jones all missing games, I think you are closing your mind off to save your sanity.

I reckon if Bytel had been able to step up it might have had the same outcome but we needed a depth high production mid and we didn't have one. That's why I'm not against chasing a Crouch type on the cheap. If the report comes back that we are on the cusp we probably need to have someone like Dunstan is for Melbourne. Perhaps next year one of the kids steps up again but they are a long way off replacing one of the prime mids if they go down. Clark should be running his arse off.

Trading for Paddy Dow would help fulfil the unspoken law that there must always be one Paddy on our list at all times.

2015-2019 Paddy McCartin
2020-2022 Paddy Ryder
2023-???? Paddy Dow

Maybe search for one in the draft unless he's free.

Medicating yourself is the only way, it hurts too much otherwise
