What’s with the hate levied by Norf supporters for us in their trade thread this year?

Had a keyword search of “saints” in their 2021 threads and nowhere near the vitriol.
Happens on every board, whatever club you're involved in with your most likely deals all of a sudden turn into your biggest rivals.

Essendon were the biggest flogs on our board when we were trading for Carlisle, then Freo were when we were trading for Hill etc.

The more contentious the deal, the more animosity there is. Logue and Tucker from freo seem like they'll be easy, straightforward deals so there's no animosity towards Freo.

The deals for Clark and Hill are so contentious because the two fanbases will see things so differently. We're happy to trade Hill for a reasonable offer, they expect to be compensated for what they believe to be a desperately needed salary dump. We value Clark based on his 2020 finals performance, they see a guy that has played 20 odd games in two years that they want to snag with a heavy discount.

The fact that we're the only club in town more pathetic than they are probably gets them up and about a bit more than if it were anyone else as well.

They want us to replace them as the rabble to external eyes. Every mention of a Tassie team always follows with teams of Norf supporters saying “what about Ain’t Kilda, the debt the debt”.

Really average free agency period to have surplus cash, and expiring contracts on big money. Wouldn’t be totally against front loading some contracts here and really opening us up for a few big years of FA

Jordan De Goey has committed to the Pies. What does that mean for us?

I wouldn’t be too upset if it was us. Things really haven’t worked out too well for us in 150 years of being in Melbane.

As a Tasmanian who supports the Saints would love it, do not think a lot of other Tasmanians would.

This year's and next years first for Dunkley and WB's 2nd rounder

They should get a 2nd rounder for McStay

Gives them 3 second round picks to use on Ashcroft
They will hope to use one of those on Lobbe if Freo let him go.
Will also need a fairly hefty chunk of points for Fletcher as he looks a late first early second pick

$850k for two years, to get a potential gun for the next 15 years at pick 7....

I would do that EVERY SINGLE YEAR!!

Imagine buying an extra pick 7 every year for just $1.7mil on the books. You'd eventually get to the point of having too many stars to buy more pick 7s!

As many have said, seems like a no-brainer. We must be in some trouble if losing Hanners, Ryder, Geary, Kent, Long, and possibly some of Hill, Clark and Bytel.... and yet we can't buy pick 7? Spells trouble. Hopefully not another coach trying to save his own arse with a quick fix instead of bringing in quality early picks.

The mind boggles. There must be some criminally overpaid players in our list.
Imagine if we didn’t burn money on hannerbury how much worse it would be…

It really cannot be 7 + Bowes for GC getting nothing back. Surely they just mean 7 can be involved?
e.g. if we offer

pick 9 + 55 + Long for
7+22+ Bowes

So we upgrade 9 to 7 and get an early second round pick for Long..

Would people go for that? I personally think it is still a good deal.
On the surface it looks good but what the cost of hamstringing our salary cap for the next 2 years for a pick that falls around 25. No friggn way.

Future 2nd + Future 3rd + Long for
7+ 22 + Bowes
Or
Future 2nd + Long for
7+ Bowes
