I wouldn’t mind seeing Martin line up at half back.
Has the height, athleticism and willingness to tackle. Also has a nice long kick.

I’ve seen worse positional switches.

Better than even money chance that he does a calf if he tries to kick it 50m.
It’s an interesting suggestion but he needs to get match for first.

Based on what I've seen in the past month we can turn it into a filthy grind, to reduce the prospect of a blowout.

The whole weeks forecast suggests a wet, cold and heavy ground come Sunday.

Maybe we finally plant the flag and go to war. I cant see it logically, burnt too many times but... hope springs eternal.

I'd like to see Kemp in for starters and I figure Fisher and even TDK could come in to add variety in attack.

Cripps fronted the media, remained positive and very much in sync with Voss re: "we're going ok, the execution isn't there."

Still can't get used to our senior players referring to playing/training as 'coming to work', and it feels like we use that language more than any other club. I know playing footy is officially their form of employment and that's probably just the terminology these days, but I still worry our playing group harbours a stronger 'this is just a job' mentality than some other teams.

Thought he spoke well - "not going to get discouraged" which is key.

Important the club holds its nerve and not drop its bundle totally.

He should have spent that time and money on a goal kicking coach rather than a sprint coach.
Harry is doing the downfield work that the lack of HFF cant do - perhaps all the running he is doing is impacting negatively on his ability to kick goals as well as he used to - something he can work on until Carlton actually finds a couple of half forwards to play.

I agree he needs to get out of the rut, got any better ideas, genius?

I don't for one moment think they will play H in the ruck, and that is part of the problem. They (like you) lack imagination and 'outside the box' thinking. The coaching/selection staff lack the dare to do something different. I remember when Yabby Jeans turned a mediocre HBF called Dipper into a brownlow medal winning winger. A winger with the 'wrong' body type and attributes for the time. They did this first in a cutthroat final on the biggest stage. At least the then Hawthorn brains trust had the dare and confidence to do something radical.

I'm suggesting something different for this game only. It may work, it may not. Lets at least try to win.

If we keep doing the same thing we have for 9 weeks we will get slaughtered.

Perhaps you might want to look up Eeinstein's definition of insanity.

I’m sure they come up with ideas, they don’t just sit around going “more of the same” and let it unfold.

They are probably wrestling with backing in the structure they have planned for in the off season or changing it up. The pros of sticking with what they trained for could reap longer term rewards once it becomes second nature to the players.

Alternatively it continues to get worse and destroys the players confidence and it begins to look like they are doubling down being stubborn.

To me it looks more like the later than the former, we can have elements of the defensive style, rather than beginning games like we are a bottom premier league team going away to man city trying to hang on grimly from the first bounce.

I suggested exactly a solution to getting H out of his rut, making Cox accountable, negating the height atvantage he lauds over all others, fatiguing him by making him play on a superior athlete, negating the marks/goals he got in their F50 on sunday and making him mark H in OUR F50.

I'm not talking about making H full time permanent ruck for the rest of his career. I'm talking only of this upcoming game against this pretender of a footballer. Maybe adding a string to our bow.

Would I play H as first ruck against a legitimate, propoer first ruck? No. O'brien et al would murder him. But Cox is a bully and one trick pony, he has one advantage - being sky tall. So is H, but H has the athletic and footballer advantage over the Texan pretender.

Play H at full back, cos his brother does.

Play TDK at CHB, because his brother does.

Young and Weitering go and umm, idk.

Apologies to intrude again and I assume others may have already said this, but don't forget, Collingwood last year were 4 wins, 5 losses at Round 9.

So, season isn't exactly over for you yet. As gross as that is to say.

But but the media are attempting to 'build up our backs to the wall Carlton victory articles'

We don't have Collingwood's, finals experience, football department or list quality especially when it comes to spreading and transitioning the football

Nope, just words - I never listen to them

Actions speak louder than words - ill wait for the actions

Just like you don't listen to Vossy's pressers or any pressers.

No need to tell us anytime someone posts a link or mentions a presser from the Club.

Hoping Cotts can be used in this role, has the tank can take a grab and has pace. Never know Cunners may appear before the end of the season too.

Maybe Harry is gassed by the time he gets a shot, Personally I'd play him out of the square, that's where he believes he does his best work and is probably the most confident there.

Just listened to (most of) the skipper fronting the media.
Same stuff as Vossy, similar guff to Lloyd, same story as Cerra.
I get the impression that its just words with little behind it.
While the fans talk up rivalries etc. Its just another day coming into work, don't get too high, don't get too low, putting in the work, doing a job.
Morining Ralph, morning Sam...

He spent a lot of time there at the Suns. More time that up forward.
