I have it from the 'Roan's mouth, not of the Blue variety, but from someone really 'close' that JSOS aint ever going to the Saints if his future is not at CFC. He doesn't want to deal with the dad shite again. He may actually really benefit with an interstate move where he can be under the radar, like QLD or Sydney. Gold Coast may be a really good fit for him/us......

This looks the most speedy and balanced forwards setup we got for along time

Cunner Harry Martin
Owies. Curnow. Fogarty
Yep.

I prefer Cuners, Martin, Fog to JSOS, Motlop, Durdin. More flexibility (including with rotations), speed, ball-hunting and better execution. Somewhat fragile with Martin & Cuners being injury-prone but far better balanced up forward.

I’ve seen worse sides names this year.

Bummer about Dow….if Acres doesn’t live up to expectations then bring Binns in next week

Young, Motts and JSOS (yes I know out of position) had poor games and obviously we are going head to head with GC mids and Ed is just too 1D these days

No pressure on cunners…3 and 24 would be a good return

Edit: Cotts extremely lucky

I'm pleased that we have a different look up forward. I think Fogarty will at least provide tackle pressure. I hope Cuningham gets up into the midfield more than just playing a roaming half forward role. Would love to see him at some centre bounces.

I'd prefer to see Walsh stay out wide and despite him being named there, I don't want Kennedy playing wing. On the ball or forward, that's all.

I still think about his first game and how polished and assured he looked.

2021 I think it was, his first month of football was extremely impressive, almost A grade. Only a small sample size but you could see why he was taken first round. There’s a player in there somewhere.

Unfortunately I don’t think his career will move past 2023 but he deserves a chance to prove us wrong and at the very least he will provide some zip and pressure up forward that we clearly lack.

What a bonus that would be if he and Cuners could play some decent football for the last 10 weeks of the year and give us some hope for 2024. A long shot but what’s to lose?

The last couple of VFL matches he seemed much more intent on pressure and providing options.
When he dropped out of the firsts he was lost, timid unsure of himself.
Honey is another one who doesn’t get involved despite seeming to have the tools.

Remember Cuningham was the same for a couple of years, just not getting involved.

Happy for Fog to get one last go, I’ve always liked watching him play as he works incredibly hard and isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. He is a footballer first.
Pretty certain we are better off now playing the yoing players who are going to be on the list next season, not players such as Fogarty who has been a borderline Afl player for five years at two clubs.

I think it's total crap. Curnow and Fogarty would struggle to get a game at North yet we play them, Curnow over and over again. I remember the excuse last week was for Merrett which I might add failed dismally. Fogarty is just poo, I cant believe a guy that's played maybe omne or two games over three years could still be there.

I am most definitely in the blame/sack Voss camp now. The bloke literally has no idea what he's doing.

Fog was in the top ten B&F in his first year at the club and has been thrown all over the place since.

He will tackle. I'd take him over half the players that suited up last week just based on that.

The ones who are not even performing in the VFL? Binns is the only one younger than Fog who deserves a go.

Same age as Dow, TDK and LOB, other borderline AFL players who the club has had no issue in gifting games to in the past. I’d argue he has shown no less at AFL level than all three.

We have nothing to lose by giving him a run for a few weeks.

Pretty sure Binns has been a strong performer for a significant period and should be rewarded.
We are not making finals, Happy to be proven wrong, Fogarty is a fringe senior level player at best.

I have criticised many of Voss’ positional moves but I don’t believe he is at fault for JSOS in the ruck and I’ll tell you for why.

At the start of the Voss era he played Pitto and TDK, but because TDK was a passenger up forward Voss had no option but to drop him. And then pitto obviously got injured so TDK got a reprieve as the first ruck. As soon as pitto was back Voss returned to pitto and TDK. However it’s worth noting that pitto wasn’t even fully fit, as apparently he was having blood drained from his knee in order to get through games. Pitto was ‘managed’ for the lions game.

Then the same thing that happened at the start of the year happened again. TDK was a liability, so Voss had no option but to drop TDK and play an underdone pitto and undersized JSOS against the almighty Gawn and Jackson, because at least with JSOS you know he’ll compete and wrestle and that’s all he needs to do really. And we only lost by 11 seconds, further emphasising how fans get way too scared over teams that play 2 rucks.

So what does that say if a fully fit and available TDK couldn’t even get ahead of an underdone pitto and undersized JSOS. Voss has shown his hand multiple times. He wants to play 2 rucks. Even this year he did so, but because TDK contributes nothing up forward (and was also average in the ruck) he had no option but to drop him after the crows game.

So if you want to blame anyone for JSOS in the ruck, the blame should be directed at TDK’s inability to impact up forward. The only blame Voss should get is that he is foolish and arrogant enough to continue playing TDK up forward. If we are that desperate to play Pitto and TDK, then play TDK as a defender/ruck. I'm not suggesting that he is a natural defender, but especially with Young horribly out of form it is a good opportunity to try him in that position.
