The only players I can see being rested are those who are genuinely in need of it, e.g Cripps and Doch. We pick our best possible team to play GWS and go hard for the win. Everybody gets a week off the following week, they will be fine.

As much as I like the idea of McKay in the ruck, this isn't the time to experiment, that can be done over the pre-season if that is what the club wants to do. Binns can wait until next year after he gets another pre-season into him. Continuity is important at this time of year.

No getting too cute by flirting with form.

How bout we have some faith in our match committee who 10 weeks ago were being bagged to the hilt and have turned it around since.
never work.......not here.........

No resting players!

Managing them is another story. Perhaps Doc, Cripps, Saad and Cuningham I am okay with.

Resting anyone else is absurd. If people say Weitering or Charlie, I swear I will...

IN - Cerra, Walsh, McGovern, Boyd, Fogarty

OUT - Cripps, Docherty, Saad, Cuningham, Marchbank

SUB - Still likely Ed

My gut feeling is that we could end up trying this and going with McKay in the ruck. Absolutely no idea, can't pick a side without leaving out players who have form and are playing well. Always thought in situations like this you try to go back to best 22 even though that changes.

Could easily be Kemp out McGovern in his role and Marchbank stays.

Think Docherty, Acres and Cottrell are our first choice wingers with all other pieces back in place.

Think Kennedy will come back slower, via then via the reserves if they are still playing and will be on standby for Cripps or Hewett.

I'm all for McKay playing the second ruck roll, particularly if his form doesn't come quickly. Allows us to be a smaller forward line or a taller forward line.

Not sure if Fogarty comes straight back in. He was rested coming off a good game. Think Motlop and Owies are cemented in.

Boyd for Cincotta is a tough one, I just think Boyd is a little better. Little quicker, just as hard at it, takes the game on by foot a little better. Cincotta has been really good though. Think Fisher has earned a spot, he's been good.

Marchbank, Kemp and McGovern are interchangeable. DeKoning and Pittonet are interchangeable. Cincotta and Boyd are interchangable. Hollands and Cottrell are interchangeable. Whichever you pick it won't make a huge difference as all are good quality.

Marchbank - The best intercept mark. Maybe plays a little taller than the others.
McGovern - Fast, plays tall and small, great kick, kicking stands out.
Kemp - Fast, plays small well, generates run.

Cottrell or Hollands - Hollands will probably end up being better but at this stage Cottrell is probably just that little bit better.

Pittonet or DeKoning - DeKoning is a bit better up forward, Pittonet is a bit better as a pure ruck.

Fogarty or another player? Silvagni perhaps. Dow maybe. I think as a role player he has played a role really well.

B: Newman Weitering Kemp
HB: Saad McGovern Fisher
C: Docherty Cripps Acres
HF: Cuningham Martin Motlop
F: McKay Curnow Owies
OB: Pittonet Walsh Cerra
IC: Boyd Hewett Cottrell Fogarty
SUB: Dow
EM: Marchbank Cincotta Hollands DeKoning

Over the entirety of our streak, what is our best side? Really hard to say because all have had great moments.

Always had fairly strong opinions of who our best 22 is, never been so indecisive in my living memory. Depth is really good and so is our list health.

This will be another big test against a form team. Advantage is we are back home in Melbourne. Will we turn up thought with finals sorted?
Don’t wanna kill Bambi but for season 23, Marchbank is depth and if McGov is ready then he should make way. I’d have JSOS on the bench in his place as JSOS is cleaner , reads play better and more flexible.

I reckon the bombers beat the pies this week (pies will want port anyway), Brisbane beat the saints, port beat Richmond and Melbourne beat Sydney. Dogs will rebound and beat the cats, we will beat GWS and then face the dogs in the first final.
Melbourne to lose to Brisbane in the 1st QF, Collingwood to beat port in QF2, us to beat the dogs and Sydney to beat the saints. We then beat the Dees in the semi and the pies in a prelim, facing off against the lions in the grand final and winning 17.

Pies need to get their sh it together and McRae is a competitive beast. The only way they lose is if * actually beat them. And what if Port loses... what if Brisbane loses etc.. Pies playing first game of the round will not have our benefit of knowing the lay of the land.

I’m obviously the only one but I’d be a little nervous playing the dogs the first week. Our contested ball is our go to and so is theirs. Yes they’ve been patchy but they did beat us. So would like to win this week to keep them out.

I reckon Melbourne will beat Collingwood week one setting up a huge second week if we win week one. Nothing would be sweeter than knocking them out in straight sets after last year.

I was there on Saturday, Newman , Cripps and Doc looked very sore in the last quarter
Newman has become our most important defender (imo) so if he’s a bit banged up please give him a spell along with Cripps,Cunno and Doc
Whilst continuing our unbeaten run is important, the elimination final is obviously the one we need to have a clean bill of health for

I wouldn’t be too concerned with our efforts on Saturday

It was bloody hot with no cloud cover at all
Our blokes wouldn’t have been used to it
We definitely would’ve lost this game in the past so great signs
Go u baggers 👍💪

If this happened I’d be very happy.

The likelihood of * beating any finals team is just pure fantasy.

What I love about them is that they have the softest underbelly known to man!!!!

Essendon couldn’t beat an egg right now. Pies will want a settler before finals. They’ll win by 10 goals.

Voss will want continuity this week. We win, Dogs win, we play Dogs Week 1 of finals. Eeeeeeaaaaaaaassssssssyyyyyyyyy!
Can dogs even get out of their kennels these days? Wouldn't count on it.
The team I'd most like us to face first would be Aints.

I don’t think this is rocket science. They’ll be desperate to get games into Walsh, Cerra, McGovern. They won’t want to lose too much continuity going into finals. If Cripps and Doc genuinely need a rest, fine, but otherwise I reckon 3-4 changes tops. If everyone fit, Kemp or Marchie for Mitch, then Ed, and Cunners the unlucky ones.

Fog is the really tricky one. I want him back in the side immediately but for who? Mots and Owies don’t deserve to be dropped and I quite like the three of them for their defensive intensity. Who goes out?
