Boyd would be a handy inclusion for Greene.IF not, I would like Jed Lamb to debut.
Lamb has been doing a fair bit of boxing of late. Could work.

I don't see anyone discouraging opinions on selection, most would be up for debate to gain better understanding

I can understand and also agree that Cripps should be rested considering he is carrying a rib injury

What I don't understand is why someone like Doc should be rested. He suffered a cork prior to GC but was still selected in the side and played a full game

Also don't understand why Kennedy should be used as a sub this week. Surely a full game to regain or ascertain touch would be beneficial to the side leading into finals
Doch discussion probably comes from him suggesting it in the Good for Footy video last week. Not sure if it was tongue in cheek or if he'd actually need a rest. That was the first I'd heard of resting him.

Thought we sacked Voss? Can't coach? Did I get that wrong?

He is on his last warning from the Carlton Board on BF - it is Dow or never time for Voss - the other players can all GAGF.

Hodge was saying the other day on SEN I think it was about Match Committee meetings used to drive him up the wall. Majority of the back and forth was over selection numbers 21 to 23/ sub and also made reference to Champion data being disected by analysts in those meetings as well being equally tedious which I thought interesting.
Some clubs have moved away from them and collect their own data now with emphasis on their own metrics. At least that's what I was being told pre covid ~18 and 19 seasons. I would assume most clubs are. I know one club reached out to a small data science firm to build their own models. mate was pretty unhappy when the pies went with another mob. Probably would've been a fun project.

I'm 100% for resting Cripps. Forcibly, if needed (although I ain't doing it).
Doc I'm 50/50 on. Was subbed out in the Dees game and only played 72 mins, but seemed alright against GC and played 98 mins. I'd lean towards resting him if he's had hamstring or calf tightness (no strapping in GC game).
I don't see the point in resting anyone else, unless they are carrying niggles or playing sore. Weitering and Curnow are definitely playing if it's up to me (I'm sure most are glad it isn't). I know Martin has had a history of soft tissue injuries, but it's important for him to stay out there IMO.

Other than that, the only other changes should be form based, or if somebody better is coming back in (Cerra, Walsh, Gov, Kennedy).

Good to see Jarrad Waite has finally got his body right and will win a much deserved Coleman this year. Props to mick for backing him in

Wait what

The topic of “load management” is very acceptable in American sports but very much frowned upon here. I think if we’re to fully embrace professionalism, resting players when the need arises and the opportunity presents itself is perfectly acceptable. On the subject of Cripps, it’s not like we’re resting a fully healthy player - the mattress he had on his ribs clearly indicated at the very least a knock and potentially worse. A fortnight off would get that close to right, and would ensure he is available for his first ever final. I would personally be gutted if we stubbornly played him through injury, only to miss his first taste of September.
But that’s just my view, not necessarily the right one.
